Krasokhina grapes: a brief description of the varieties, the main characteristics

Grapes are a unique creation of nature. Its berries can be both food and medicine. About the benefits and medicinal properties of grapes known for several thousand years. There are people who have dedicated their lives to growing grapes. Well-known winegrowers, who have made a huge contribution not only to the selection work, but also to the popularization of wine-growing, deservedly include Kostrykin Ivan Alexandrovich.

Many new varieties are associated with his name. After the death of her father, the daughter of Svetlana Ivanovna Krasokhina continued the work of his life. Grapes Krasokhina S.I. known far beyond the selection laboratory in Novocherkassk, where Svetlana Ivanovna has been fruitfully engaged in selection for many years.

The list of varieties and hybrid forms of grapes Krasokhina S.I.

For many new resistant hybrids of grapes, the Krasokhina's parental form has become a super early variety Vostorg. Svetlana Ivanovna’s father participated in the creation of Delight. Since this variety belongs to the early ones, Svetla Ivanovna also continued to work above all on the early varieties.

In addition to early varieties, among the hybrid forms of selection by Krasokhina, there are also middle and late ripening grapes. In addition, the grapes differ in purpose. There are technical and dining varieties.

Early varieties include:

  • Baklanovsky
  • Gadbena Know or Zolotinka
  • Platovskiy or Early Dawn

In addition to such properties as the timing of ripening and a close return of the crop, the breeder
Worked on:

  • disease resistance
  • frost resistance
  • unpretentiousness
  • the size of brushes and berries
  • taste
  • presentation
  • keeping quality

In addition to the early varieties, there are medium-term ripening among the Krasokhina grapes.
Among them, it is customary to single out Talisman and Alex. Among the later - Muscat Pridonsky. In her work, Svetlana Ivanovna focuses on different climatic and weather conditions. According to reviews, its grapes grow well in the Moscow region and in other regions where winters are quite cold and the number of sunny summer days is not very large. We will try to understand the basic merits of some varieties.

Variety Talisman or Kesha nutmeg

Table variety, in its breeding varieties were used Vostorg, Frumoasa Alba. Berries ripen for 127 - 135 days, a lot depends on weather conditions. Clusters of medium friability, average weight 900 - 1000 g, but can form clusters weighing up to 2.0 kg. Berries are large, with an average weight of 16.0 g, and in good conditions and with the observance of agricultural practices, they can be 20.0 g.

Color white, with a yellow tinge. Peel of medium density. The amount of sugar in the berries is high, reaching 23 g. Acids are not more than 8 g / l. Talisman withstands frost to - 25, he almost does not suffer from gray rot and mildew. Bushes are strong, tall. The talisman is almost not suitable for growing on one or two trellis, as it easily and quickly outgrows them.

For good harvest, Talisman requires:

  • arched supports
  • yield regulation
  • additional pollinator
  • complete cutting weak shoots

Pollinating varieties for Talisman can be:

Despite some peculiarities of cultivation, amateur gardeners choose a talisman because of harmonious taste, beautiful and large clusters, and keeping quality.

Variety Delight oval or Baklanovsky

Upon receipt of the Variety Delight, the Original and the Orient became parental forms for it. Early variety. By harvesting grapes Baklanovsky can start already on 115 - 120 day. Clusters weighing up to 850.0 g. Berries are large, white oval-shaped. Sugar in ripe berries up to 23%, acid is small, no more than 5 - 6 g / l.

Video about the grape variety Baklanovsky:

The variety has a good resistance to fungal infections of grapes. Carries frosts to - 25 degrees. Grape lovers choose variety Baklanavsky because of:

  • beautiful and tasty berries
  • very early maturation
  • a long stay of ripe berries on the bush without shedding, loss of taste and appearance
  • resistance to wasp damage
  • thin skin

These varieties are used for direct consumption or for home canning. For technical processing there are special grape varieties.

Description of the technical grape variety Platovsky selection S. Krasokhina. I.

Variety Platovsky has the second name Dawn clear. This is most likely due to the very early ripening and the appearance of white berries. They glow pink in the light, resembling the dawn of the morning. The basis of Platovskiy lay varieties Zaladenda and Gift Magaracha. Harvest this technical variety can be 110 days. The brushes are dense, the shape of the brushes is conical, the average weight is 200.0 g.

Berries for a technical grade are rather large, weighing up to 3–4 g. Sugar in berries is up to 21%, acids up to 9 g / l. It should be noted excellent frost resistance, the variety tolerates negative temperatures up to - 29. Resistant to most common grape diseases.

According to the reviews of amateur winegrowers, the variety completely transports winters in the middle lane directly to the trellis, retaining the ability to produce crops. Great for making homemade wines, juices and even for fresh consumption.

Wine from the Platovskiy grape variety has a harmonious dessert taste. For wine, you can take it in combination with several other technical varieties, or separately.

In addition, Platovsky can be used along the way for vertical gardening of gazebos and verandas. It should be said that all grape varieties and table, and technical selection of hereditary grower, PhD, Svetlana Ivanovna Krasokhina - this is an excellent choice for fans of these berries.

Krasokhina grapes: description and photo of the best varieties

Not a single cultivated plant deserves such attention as grapes, because nature has endowed it with unique and inimitable qualities. For more than one millennium, this plant pleases humanity with its fruits.

In addition, the berries of this plant are considered both food and medicine, which was well known to our distant ancestors. Not one century and millennium was spent on the improvement of this gift of nature.

One of the scientists involved in this, is a native land native to us - Svetlana Krasokhina: she not only founded the professional domestic selection of cultivated grapes, but also extolled domestic viticulture to unprecedented heights.

Krasokhina S. And

Krasokhina Svetlana Ivanovna belongs to the hereditary dynasty of winegrowers and breeders.

Today, there is no grape lover who would not know her father - Kostrykin Ivan Alexandrovich, because he not only put his whole life on the breeding of new plant varieties, but also became the founder of the national school of grape selection.

Having absorbed all her love for the vine from her father, Svetlana Ivanovna decided to continue his work. In 1995, Svetlana Ivanovna graduated from the Kuban State Agrarian University, whose walls helped her become a true certified specialist in the field of vegetables and grapes.

But despite this, she began work on the selection of grapes back in 1988, under the close supervision of her own father. After graduating, Krasokhina is working on her PhD thesis, which she successfully defended already in 2001 and becomes a candidate of sciences in the specialty “Fruit Growing, Viticulture”.

The diploma of the candidate of science opens for her a new level in the development of her beloved business, and very soon the young scientist produces a huge number of successful grape varieties within the walls of her native All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Viticulture and Wine-Making.

That is why, in a short time, amateur gardeners and large industrial enterprises began to queue behind the seedlings of grapes Krasokhina.

Today, Svetlana Ivanovna is a Candidate of Sciences, a researcher at the laboratory of breeding and ampelography, in which she is working on breeding new varieties of cultivated plants by isolating genetic sources of biologically valuable traits.

The main advantage of Krasokhina is 9 technically valuable varieties of grapes, in the selection of which she took direct part, and 150, which are being tested. In addition, the professional experience gained over the years of research has helped her become the author of a manual on table varieties of this plant and create 2 educational films about grapes and its various hybrid forms.

Svetlana Ivanovna has become a recognized expert in the field of determining the variety of grapes and its breeding purity. All this contributed to the fact that Krasokhina became the main domestic consultant of wineries on the processes of selection and cultivation of optimal varieties of technical varieties of plants.

Popular varieties

When it comes to Krasokhina Svetlana Ivanovna, most gardeners associate with elite grapes and characteristic varieties.

These primarily include table and technical winter-hardy species with high yields, a low number of seeds and a light, but expressive muscat aroma.

The fruits of these plants have a pleasant, delicate taste and improved technical characteristics for the production of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Seedless varieties are one of the most sought after among our compatriots, as they have a pleasant nutmeg taste, juicy and are almost completely devoid of bones. This characteristic has become one of the main reasons, which has ensured the national popularity of both common people and huge production holdings for seedless species.

Among the works of Krasokhina the most popular varieties are:

  • "Assol": grapes, which has an average ripening period (about 130 days). In temperate climates, the berries ripen in the first half of September. Bushes in sizes not big. Clusters are large, weighing up to 700 g, small berries. The mass of an average berry is about 3 g, they belong to the 2nd class of seedlessness. The shape of the berries is slightly oblong, there is a point on the upper part, the color is in most cases bright pink shades. The taste is pleasant and holistic. The flesh is juicy. Fruitful shoots on a bush no more than 60%. The variety is resistant to downy mildew,
  • "Kishmish Novocherkassky": a plant of medium or late maturation. The optimal time for first crops in a temperate climate zone is the beginning of September. The clusters are not large in size, weighing about 400 g. Berries are of medium size and belong to the 4th class of seedlessness. The weight of an average berry is within 3 g, and their shape is oval, occasionally ovoid. The color of the fruit is within the pink shades. The flesh is fleshy and juicy, the taste is holistic, the number of fruitful shoots varies between 70-90%. The variety is resistant to gray rot and downy mildew,
  • "Yasya": one of the newest varieties, the berries ripen early, no later than the end of July. Clusters are large, their weight is within 600 g, and in some cases up to 1 kg. The berries are large, the mass of 1 berry is within 5-6 g, oval in shape, violet shades prevail in color. The flesh is juicy, fleshy, with a holistic muscat flavor. Grapes belong to class 1-2 seedlessness. The number of fruitful shoots in the range of 70-80%. The variety is resistant to mycosis of various origins.

The next most common type of "Krasokhinsky" grapes are table varieties. Despite their youth, they actively conquered household plots, and also became an indistinguishable part of the shops of many stores.

The most popular of them can be called:

  • "Alex": a variety that ripens early (no more than 120 days). The bushes are large, the clusters are large, reaching a mass of about 1 kg. The berries are white and fairly large in size, which is very noticeable compared to other varieties, oval in shape. Their average weight is within 14 g. The flesh is dense, juicy and fleshy. The taste is pleasant. The number of fruitful shoots does not exceed 60% of the total mass. The variety is not damaged by wasps and shows noticeable resistance to pathogens of gray mold, true and downy mildew,

Important! If you have taken measures to breed the “Alex” variety on your own plot, remember - this plant develops best on the southern and western slopes.

  • "Talisman": the fruits of the plant ripen early (no more than 130 days). The clusters are small, but reach an average weight of 800-1100 g. The berries are very large, which is also noticeable to the naked eye: the average weight of a single berry is in the range of 11-15 g. With full care, berries are light shades (mostly white). The taste is holistic, with full ripeness a slight nutmeg is added to the overall taste. The number of fruitful shoots is approaching the maximum level and is about 70-90%.
The berries are large, on average their weight is no more than 8 g. They are rounded or oval in shape, and the color variety of the berries is in the limit of soft green shades. The fruitfulness of the shoots does not exceed 80%. Zolotinka shows resistance to gray rot and downy mildew.

Important! One of the main rules for growing the Zolotinka variety is timely chasing of a young plant: it protects the bush from the complex interweaving of branches.

Technical grape varieties Krasokhina occupy more than one catalog, but the most popular are only a few. They managed to conquer the manufacturer, first of all, by high yields and increased, relative to competitors, technological characteristics. Among them it is worth noting:

  • "Platovskiy": a very early grape, its ripening period lasts no more than 115 days. The clusters are medium in size, and their mass does not exceed 200 g. The berries are small, round, their mass is not more than 2 g. The color of the berries is mostly white, but a characteristic pinkish tint appears in the sun. The flesh is juicy, the upper skin of the berry is distinguished by a thin, but firm skin. The taste is pleasant and uniform. The number of fruitful shoots reaches 85%. The variety is resistant to severe frosts (down to -29 ° C), as well as to gray rot, false and true powdery mildew, phylloxera,

Important! In order to achieve high yields, plants of the variety “Platovskiy” should be subjected to timely hiding and removal of old shoots.

  • "Muscat Pridonsky": grapes late ripening (not earlier than the first half of September). The clusters are small, their average mass does not exceed 250 g. The berries are small, round, mostly green and white, fleshy and juicy. Their taste is homogeneous, contains a noticeable nutmeg note. Fertility of shoots reaches 95%. The variety shows resistance to severe frosts (up to -27 ° C) without additional shelter, and is also not susceptible to phylloxera. In the production of Muscat Pridonskogo make good sparkling wines.

Grape breeding Krasokhina S.I. can rightly be considered a real asset of domestic agriculture. Obtained in the course of grueling experiments, the plants are perfectly suited to fulfill their goals, which is especially important for technical cultivars. Despite the abundance of foreign analogues, only a sapling “from Krasokhina” will help to grow a harvest that is really rich in taste in our latitudes.

On the work of the grower S. I. Krasokhina

Svetlana Ivanovna is an outstanding successor to the dynasty of winegrowers, whose efforts have produced more than 150 varieties of this crop. Krasokhina is studying the use of growth regulators for table grapes with a female type of flowering.

S. I. Krasokhina has already become the owner of four copyright certificates for grapes and two patents for inventions. Viticulturist reviews

Both experienced and novice winegrowers are perfectly familiar with the hybrid forms that are selected by S. I. Krasokhina. Both own-rooted and grafted seedlings have good viability and quickly adapt. Gardeners with experience recommend to take into account one of the main rules for choosing grapes for cultivation: it is necessary to ascertain the zoning of the hybrid form.

The varieties bred by S. I. Krasokhina deserve the following reviews of growers:

  1. "Platovskiy" characterized as very good for homemade wine. However, it is noted that wine from this grape is susceptible to oxidation under the influence of oxygen, therefore it is necessary to use potassium pyrosulfate or to fumigate the wort with sulfur.
  2. The scourge of a large part of the vineyards is a destructive phylloxera disease - for "Muscat Pridonsky" not terrible, which makes this hybrid grape form is very popular among many winegrowers involved in the cultivation of berries for the purpose of implementation.
  3. The form "Baklanovsky" It has a fairly high resistance to mildew and oidium damage, and is also slightly affected by gray rot. Many amateur gardeners taste this variety seems rustic, devoid of frills. However, the survival rate of cuttings and yield deserved the highest accolades.
  4. Hybrid form "Mascot" in carrying out proper care, it is capable of generously giving the grower very tasty berries, which are suitable not only for personal use, but also for sale.
  5. New and very promising table grapes "Alex", according to most gardeners who cultivate different varieties, is truly worthy and is distinguished by the fact that it abundantly bears fruit and forms a commercial crop, regardless of weather conditions.
  6. Grapes called "Golden" enters the phase of fruiting on the 2nd or 3rd year after planting. Further yield and quality of berries entirely depend on the compliance with agricultural technology.

“Talisman” (“Kesha 1”) is a popular table white grape variety with pronounced tasting qualities (8 points).

  • the size of the berries and brush (up to 2 kg),
  • ready for fruiting in the 2nd year after landing in the ground,
  • maturity - late,
  • the abundance of brushes can overload the bush - needs to be rationed,
  • the main plus of the variety is disease resistance and cold resistance (up to –25 ° C).

To improve the qualities of the variety, the author recommends applying to the plant a high agrofon with adjustable irrigation, balanced feeding, additional pollination and rationing of the ovary.
