On a large territory of our country, the climate is not conducive to agriculture. Both the state and the population have to find various methods in order to have time to harvest in a short period of growing season. Many craftsmen, using modern technology and folk remedies, grow rich harvests of fruits and vegetables, despite the long cold weather. Eggplants are also made this way. Cultivation of cultivated plants is impossible without good fertilizing with mineral fertilizers and organic matter. What to feed the eggplant?

Eggplants on Russian household plots do not grow very often: the plant is very thermophilic and requires a long growing season. Most regions of Russia cannot provide enough heat to grow eggplant, because this culture from the Pasan family needs a long and warm summer.

Special premises, the cultivation of early vegetables and, of course, the active feeding of crops have become the way to grow the vegetation in such a situation - all this helps the rapid emergence of fruits, the growth of harvest. If you find something to feed the eggplants for growth, then a significant harvest of these vegetables will be guaranteed.

Fertilizer shortage

The main reason a grower cannot grow eggplants is improper feeding. It is carried out either at the wrong time or in the wrong amount. With a weak diet, the fruits grow small, and there are very few of them. With the serious addition of nitrogen elements, beautiful bushes appear, but nothing grows on them. Therefore, it is worth seriously thinking about how to feed eggplants.

Lack of nitrogen

Eggplant in need of nitrogen has small leaves and a different color. As a rule, the leaves of the plant darken and then fall off. The fruits of these vegetables ripen very slowly. And the fruits that have managed to ripen are small, loosely fixed on the stem. It is possible to provide a harvest on such plants by the method of feeding with nitrogen-containing substances. For example, urea is perfect for this task.

Potassium deficiency

If there is little potassium in the soil where eggplants ripen, vegetables slow down the development. Fruits formed on adult plants with a lack of potassium are covered with brown spots. Of course, the level of productivity at the same time significantly decreases.

The need for potassium increases on cloudy days. The better to feed the eggplants in this case? It is necessary to make wood ash. She needs to cover the ground under each eggplant. Per square meter, as a rule, contribute two to three hundred grams.

Phosphorus deficiency

With a lack of phosphorus plant color from green shade goes to blue. The leaves fold and after a while almost completely fly around. The condition of the vegetable is generally deteriorating. The root system almost does not develop, the buds and fruit ovaries appear in extremely small quantities, and aging is very slow.

You can try to increase the level of vital activity of eggplants by feeding them phosphorus-containing compounds. In particular, superphosphate can be used.

Features feeding plants

What to feed the eggplant? Feed for eggplant can be used exclusively for the cultivation of the root system of specially prepared liquids or solid mixture. Otherwise, it can lead to a weakening and death of the vegetable in a young state. If phosphorus and nitrogen-containing fertilizers get on the leaves and stalks, it is necessary to wash the substances as quickly as possible with warm water.

Eggplant during flowering: how to feed?

Cultivated plants need to be fertilized. The first feeding is done about three weeks after seating them in the garden. During this period, eggplant seedlings grow to such a state that they can absorb elements from the ground to the maximum. Then the question arises: how to feed the eggplant during flowering?

At this time, complex artificial compounds with trace elements can be good artificial fertilizers. In particular, "Mortar", "Harvest" and others. They supply the plants with a maximum of necessary substances and contribute to the appearance of a frequent ovary.

From folk methods it is recommended to use organics saturated with nitrogen and microelements. For example, it is fermented liquid from green mass. They prepare it this way: they take a barrel, fill it with a third with fresh grass from the garden, then pour water, cover it with a lid, put it on a sunny area and allow it to ferment for a week. After that, fill the solution with a watering can and pour the liquid up to one liter per plant.

More than feed eggplant during flowering?

You can make this solution: in a container with a volume of 50 l to sketch a canted green mass weighing about four kilos, half a bucket of fresh mullein and 200 g of mineral ash. Top with water and leave under cover in a sunny place for seven days. Before using, dilute the solution in a ratio of 1: 3 and water one liter for each bush.

There are other ways.

Periods of plant nutrition

Fertilizer eggplant will benefit only if you carry out feeding in the right time. You can feed the finished mineral fertilizers, but you can also ask what to feed the eggplants for growth with folk remedies.

The first serious feeding will be at the time when young plants will become strong. Fertilizer allows the culture to grow faster and increase mass. As a result, the seedlings can be transplanted to a permanent place.

The second feeding will need to be carried out during the resettlement of plants in the greenhouse or in open ground. How to feed the eggplant in the ground, what is needed for this? During this period, trace elements will help the culture to develop in new circumstances, strengthen the immune system and increase resistance to diseases and strong temperature changes.

The third dressing should be carried out in the initial period of flower formation. Especially if there are many fertile flowers, eggplants without dressings will not be able to create full-fledged fruits.

The fourth time fertilizer is applied to the ground during the fruiting of the plant. Do not neglect this dressing, because it has a positive effect on the dimensions of future fruits.

Outdoor cultivation

A substantial part of cultivated plants must be fed if they are not planted in a greenhouse. Then gardeners should ask, how to feed eggplants in the open field?

Lovers have a few recipes feeding. For example, it is proposed to fill a container with a volume of 100 l with water, add 0.5 l of fertilizer “Effekton”, stir and pour 1 l per each bush.

Next, make a dry mix. Collect garden herbs (only 5 kg), chop them finely and add to the barrel. Then add another half a cup of ash and a mullein bucket.

After feeding it is necessary to irrigate with non-dirty and warm water.

Growing in a greenhouse

In central Russia, many gardeners prefer to grow eggplants in the greenhouse. In this case, fertilizing is required. Although these vegetables absorb little fertilizer from the land, it is impossible to completely neglect top dressing with greenhouse cultivation.

How to feed eggplants in the greenhouse? Organic matter has a positive effect on plants, and if there is a possibility for a gardener, one should try to substitute artificial fertilizers with ash and mullein.

Fertilizing greenhouse vegetables begin to produce from the autumn cooking land. Up to half a bucket of rotted grass is introduced per square meter and the soil is treated for a shallow distance. Ash should be poured directly during the planting period: by hand in the hole, connecting with the ground and pouring water.

For the first time, eggplants are fertilized when the root system grows. The best option: it is necessary to pour 3 tbsp onto a bucket of warm water. spoons azofoski. Pour in half a liter to 1 plant.

When the ovaries grow, it is necessary to fertilize the greenhouse eggplant again. At this time you need to make dressing with phosphorus and potassium, and also need to use a variety of infusions. In the initial period of fruiting strengthen eggplant greenhouse with nitrogen and potassium. For this, it is necessary to double the volume of these fertilizers in the working mixture.

Eggplant picking

Pickling seedlings is used to form a stronger root system. The event is not mandatory, but highly desirable. This improvement of the plant can occur both before transferring young vegetables to a more bulky container, and before transplanting them into the street. In this case, of course, the first option will be more beneficial for the further growth and development of culture. Then the prospects for eggplants are more optimistic not only to survive, but also to bring a beautiful harvest to the gardener.

When and how to feed eggplants in this case? Feed plants after picking need compounds that accelerate the development of the root system of young vegetables. It also promotes good absorption of nutrients and their spreading throughout the plant. Because of this, eggplants should be fed after picking with substances such as phosphorus and potassium.

Folk remedies for fertilizing

Often, fans of agricultural technologies think about how to feed eggplants with folk remedies and can you trust the practice of other gardeners? Life shows what is even needed. The most famous folk blends are very simple to manufacture and quite effective.

During the flowering period, you need to try to harvest and harder to chop up the quinoa, dandelion flesh, nettle leaves, young woodlice and plantain. A green fresh mix needs about five kilograms. It should be combined with ten kilograms of mullein and half a kilogram of furnace ash. The mixture will be ready for use after seven days of fermentation in a hundred liters of water. Used at the rate of one liter per shrub plant, the liquid is poured at the root.

During the period of fruiting in the same volume of water (one hundred liters) ten kilograms of mullein are fermented, combined with one cup of urea. The solution should be infused for five days. The garden is fed with an infused solution in a volume of five liters per square meter.

Fans with experience advised to use other types of dressings. In particular, the idea of watering a solution of yeast, not only eggplants, but also other vegetables, is becoming more and more known.

To prepare the infusion, you need to dissolve a little more than half a kilogram of compressed yeast in a liter of warm water, add ten grams of granulated sugar, a pound of wood ash or one hundred grams of eggshell. The resulting mass matures for several hours, then combines with water in a ratio of 1:10.

Once a month, it is also advisable to pour vegetables over the solution of boric acid and magnesium sulfate (solution - two grams per ten liters of warm water). This type of feeding is foliar, because it is carried out by spraying vegetables from a spray bottle. Such top dressing will help to preserve the leaves, and then, with the growth of plants, - female flowers and ovaries.

When using all of the above gardener's advice, it will not be difficult to feed eggplants in the right way. Remember that properly fertilized land will give a bountiful harvest.

Fruiting

During the fruiting gardener tries to get a large number of fruits. For this you need to solve the question, how to feed the eggplant during fruiting.

At this time, eggplants are demanding on potash fertilizers, especially if the summer period was cold and wet. There are several options potash supplements:

  1. A mixture made of potash salt (two tablespoons will be needed), superphosphates (also two spoons) and warm water (ten liters).
  2. A mixture of potassium sulfate (one tablespoon) with warm water (ten liters).

Also at this time, eggplant responds well to the introduction of organic feeding, which include animal manure.

What eggplants need

Like other solanaceous crops, eggplants are extremely susceptible to a lack of the following trace elements:

From mineral fertilizers can be used:

  • Superphosphate - fertilizer has a balanced composition of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus.
  • Nitrophoska - has a composition similar to superphosphate.
  • Ammonium sulphate - includes nitrogen and sulfur. Not recommended for feeding on acidic soils.
  • Potassium nitrate - fertilizer contains nitrogen and potassium.

Organic fertilizers are also used for feeding eggplants: mullein, bird droppings, rotted manure and compost. And all of them are pre-infused, and then used in a diluted form. Fresh manure is not used for fertilizer - there is too much nitrogen in it.

How to feed eggplants

Organic and mineral fertilizers for plants need to alternate. It is important to know how to feed the eggplant correctly, because there are several ways to make nutrients: root and foliar. The extra root dressing for eggplants practically is not applied.

Sometimes, with poor flowering and poor appearance of ovaries, the plant can be fertilized by irrigating with a weak solution of boric acid (1 gram per 1 liter of water). This measure will stimulate the emergence of new ovaries. The procedure is performed twice with an interval of 1.5 weeks.

IMPORTANT! Boric acid is much faster and better soluble in hot water. Therefore, it is recommended to first dilute the acid in a small amount of hot water, and only then bring the fertilizer to the required amount with warm water.

When processing eggplants in the open ground with microelements, the fertilizer solution should be several times weaker in comparison with what is applied under the root. Otherwise, you can burn the ovaries and leaves of the plant. And this is fraught with crop loss. With a weak growth of greens for feeding you can use urea. If too strong, fertilizers containing potassium.

All basic dressings are made under the plant root. It is important to strictly observe the dosage of fertilizers in order to prevent negative consequences, such as burn of the roots, dehydration of eggplants or violent growth of tops, drowning out the development of ovaries.

From 1 to 1.5 liters of prepared fertilizer is applied for each plant. Moreover, the solution for irrigation should be warm enough - 22-24⁰C. If the product has come into contact with leaves or fruits, rinse it off with warm water.

Terms of dressings

It is important to make feeding for eggplants in time. Experienced gardeners are advised to fertilize the seedlings 2 times:

  • The first feeding of eggplant seedlings is carried out as soon as the first true leaves appear. Seedlings should receive the optimal amount of nitrogen and potassium,
  • the second is ten days before transplanting into the open ground or greenhouse. Here, in addition to nitrogen and potassium, phosphorus must be present. Alternatively, you can use a complex fertilizer - superphosphate.

Feeding eggplant seedlings after picking is necessary for the plant to actively grow the root system, acquire immunity, and also to stimulate the growth of the ground part. Before planting in the ground seedlings must have a certain stock of trace elements to get stronger faster. After all, the entire force of the root system will be directed at adapting to a new place.

The eggplants transplanted into the open fertile soil are fed three times:

In cases where eggplants are grown on scarce soils, fertilizing can be carried out more often - every 2 weeks, alternately changing mineral fertilizers with organic matter.

What is missing eggplants on the garden

If eggplants are not fed, or fertilizers are applied irregularly, they do not receive the necessary nutrients, they grow poorly, the fruits become small, irregular in shape or are completely absent. What kind of elements the plant lacks can be determined by external signs of culture.

What dressings to use during the growing season

Than to feed up seedlings of eggplants or plants planted in open ground, each gardener decides for himself. Some people prefer to use mineral fertilizers, some prefer organic. But the best option is their alternation. For the first time nutrient solutions are made even when growing plants for seedlings.

You can use mineral fertilizers:

  • superphosphate,
  • potassium salt
  • potassium sulfate.

It is necessary to prepare a solution of the desired concentration:

  • 1st feeding: 30 gr. Potassium nitrate diluted in 10 liters of warm water.
  • 2nd feeding: Dissolve 70 grams of superphosphate and 25 grams in a 10 liter bucket of water. potassium salt.

After planting eggplants in the ground or greenhouse, the concentration of fertilizer gradually increases. For the preparation of dressings use:

  • Superphosphate,
  • Potassium sulfate,
  • Nitrofosku,
  • As well as mullein, chicken droppings, urea and ashes.

ATTENTION! Organic dressings are prepared in advance. Mullear and chicken droppings insist for 7 days, wood ash - at least a day.

Well-proven feeding eggplant yeast. 100 grams of yeast dissolved in 10 liters of water. Place the solution in a warm place and wait three days. Spend 0.5 liters of funds for each bush.

If you use all of these recommendations for fertilizer for eggplant, it is not difficult to grow a healthy and rich harvest.

When to feed

The first thing you need to figure out when you can make feeding, so as not to harm the eggplant. For the entire period of growth from planting seeds to the flowering period, 3-4 feedings will be needed. The latter, the fourth, is usually used during fruiting to support the plant with nutrients that positively affect the formation of large and healthy fruits.

The first weighty feeding takes place on the 20th day from the moment of formation of the strengthened shoots. During this period, the root system of the vegetable is already sufficiently developed to be able to absorb all the beneficial trace elements and assimilate them. It is this dressing that accelerates the growth of eggplant, allowing them to quickly gain green mass and allow them to transplant seedlings to the garden bed.

The second occurs when planting plants in a greenhouse or open field. It allows eggplants to get used to the new environment more quickly, increases their immunity to diseases and temperature changes. At this stage, the plants continue to gain green mass, preparing for future fruiting.

The third dressing is carried out shortly before the formation of inflorescences. Formation of a large number of fruit-bearing inflorescences requires a maximum return from the plant; therefore, without replenishment, it will either not cope with this task or will give few flowers.

The fourth, the last feeding, falls on the fruiting period of eggplant. It is better to hold it, because it will have a beneficial effect on the shape, weight, taste of the fruit.

Feed Recipes

Now it is time to go directly to the recipes fertilizing when growing eggplant. Conventionally, they can be divided into: plants that strengthen the immune system, promote a set of green mass, support during heavy loads or diseases.

For the first feeding you can use the following compositions. They are used both for vegetables growing in the greenhouse, and for those who live in the open field.

Recipe 1: 30 g of potassium nitrate is mixed with 10 g of superphosphate, diluted in 10 liters of water. The resulting solution is used for strengthening and planting eggplant, especially if the leaves began to fade or turn yellow.

Recipe 2: 30 g of foscamide, 15 g of superphosphate, 15 g of potassium nitrate is diluted in 10 liters of water. Under the bush, you can make no more than 1 liter of solution.

Recipe 3: 1 teaspoon of ammonium nitrate is mixed with 3 tablespoons of superphosphate and 2 tablespoons of potassium sulfate, diluted in 10 liters of water.

For the second feeding, you can use complex fertilizers produced in powders or granules, mix the fertilizer yourself or limit yourself to folk remedies.

Recipe 1: 20 g of the drug “Crystal” or “Kemira-Lux” is diluted in 10 liters of warm water, immediately used.

Recipe 2: 65-70 g of superphosphate mixed with 30 grams of potassium salt, diluted in 10 liters.

Recipe 3: 10-15 g of dry yeast bred in 10 l. warm water, insist 12-16 hours, stirring regularly. Before use, dilute the solution 1:10.

Recipe 4: 1 liter of mullein mixed with 1 cup of ash, add 0.5 liters of chicken manure and 10 liters of water. Before use, you can dilute the mixture 1: 5.

When the eggplants are preparing to bloom, it is important not to let their vegetative processes slow down. At this time, it is important to monitor how vegetables grow (both in the greenhouse and in the open field): if the plant does not look haggard, its leaves do not turn yellow, do not wilt, then the concentration of mineral fertilizers can be reduced, instead of using organic compounds, if the plant has just got sick or is sick, grows poorly, then comprehensive support will be needed in all directions.

Recipe 1: 20 g of urea, 30 g of superphosphate, 10 g of potassium chloride dissolved in 10 liters of water. The solution before use, it is desirable to dilute 1: 5.

Recipe 2: 1 l of mullein infusion is mixed with 500 grams of chopped leaves and stalks of nettle, 100 g of wood ash. The mixture is poured 10 liters of water, set aside in a warm, dry place for 5-6 days, stirring regularly. Filter before use. The raw material can mulch the soil.

A recipe of 3: 1 liter of mullein infusion is mixed with 0.5 liter of chicken manure in 10 liters of water. The mixture is diluted 1: 5, no more than 1 liter of solution is poured under one bush.

Fruit formation is the most energy-intensive process when grown both in the open field and in the greenhouse, therefore it is worth helping the plants to cope with it.

Recipe 1: 40 g of superphosphate diluted in 10 liters of water, water the plant every one and a half weeks.

Recipe 2: 0.5 liters of chicken manure extract diluted in 10 liters of water, add 10 g of dry yeast, 0.5 liters of stalks and nettle leaves. Insist 3-4 days, carefully mixing the mixture. Before use, dilute 1:10.

Fertilizer rules

The main rule when growing eggplant in the ground in the open or in the greenhouse - do not overfeed. An excess of fertilizers has a bad effect on the condition of the plants, leading to the fact that they abundantly increase the stems and leaves, but at the same time they practically do not give inflorescences or fruits. Not only does it make it difficult to grow a rich crop, it also has a negative effect on the taste of the vegetable, bringing a bitter bitter taste that everyone dislikes.

It is important to understand that foliar feeding should be carried out with full understanding of what you use and why. So, for example, when fertilizing the soil in a greenhouse before planting - you should not continue to use humus, compost, mullein, as this will only harm the plants, and you will add hassle when growing. When fertilizing culture, make sure that the substance does not fall on the leaves or fruits, wash off all the drops!

Growing eggplant is associated with abundant fertilizing with nitrogen, forsfor and potassium. Do not allow the plant to lose something from this list. Moderate weekly dressing is the best choice when growing eggplant.

Eggplant fertilizer features

Eggplant fertilizers can be used exclusively for treating the root system with specially prepared solutions or dry mix. The use of irrigation method and the use of fresh manure is strictly prohibited.

This can lead to wilting and death of the plant at a young age. If phosphorus and nitrogen-containing fertilizers get on the eggplants, wash them with water as soon as possible.

Calendar feed for summer resident

In order for the plant to be healthy and well fruited, it is necessary to adhere to certain terms of fertilizer.

The first feeding - no earlier than 15 days after disembarkation. If you fertilize a bush earlier, it may negatively affect its still weakened root system.

Subsequent feeding should be carried out based on the condition of the soil. In total, for the season can be performed from 3 to 5 activities for fertilizing plants. As a rule, they are held after planting seedlings, during the flowering period and during the fruiting period. If during the autumn period compost was added to the ground, then it can be limited to three additional feedings.

Mineral feed

Lack of trace elements can affect the growth of eggplant. We offer to understand what individual components affect.

  • Nitrogen. Essential for shrub growth. With its lack of growth of the bush is slow, which further affects the ripening of fruits.
  • Phosphorus. Thanks to this element, the root system of the plant develops correctly. It influences the development of ovaries, contributes to their formation. With the help of phosphorus fruits ripen faster.
  • Potassium. Participates in the process of formation and growth of eggplant. It helps to increase resistance to the appearance of plant diseases and its reaction to sharp temperature fluctuations.
  • Manganese, boron, iron. Needed to improve the quality of vegetables and increase yields.

Do not forget that all fertilizers should be made according to the instructions, since their lack or excess can harm the plants.

Eggplant Organics

The following fertilizers are suitable from organic matter for fertilizing: mullein, bird droppings, rotted manure and compost.

It is mandatory to insist them before use, and then dilute them with the ground. It is not recommended to use fresh manure, since a large amount of nitrogen contained in it may have a bad effect on the growth of vegetables.

Features fertilizer seedlings and adult bushes

At different stages of growth, the plant requires different care. Below we describe how to fertilize eggplants, depending on their stage of development.

Many gardeners are interested in the question of how and how to fertilize eggplant seedlings. The first time you need to add fertilizer to the soil during the preparation of the beds. From what type of soil is on the proposed site of landing, and depends on top dressing.

If you have loamy soil in front of you, it is necessary to use one bucket of sawdust and manure per 1 sq. M, then add peat - about two buckets. The nutrients contained in this mixture will help to strengthen and adapt the plant.

If planting will be carried out on clay soil, it is necessary to enrich the seedlings with an important set of trace elements. To do this, prepare the following mixture: one bucket of over-ripe manure, one bucket of sawdust and sand, two buckets of peat.

When planting seedlings in sandy soil fertilizing eggplant seedlings will include two buckets of clay earth, one bucket of humus, one bucket of sawdust.

During flowering

The flowering period is one of the most important, and it is precisely at this time that the correct feeding of plants must be carried out. One of the successful options is a liquid top-dressing consisting of manure and grass.

To make such a mixture, it is necessary to chop an armful, which includes nettle, plantain leaves and dandelion. In the end, should go about 5 kg of raw materials. Ten tablespoons of ash and a mullein bucket are added to the mixture. In the resulting mass is poured about seven buckets of water and insist seven days. This solution is further used in the form of irrigation. Under each plant it is necessary to pour 1 l of the mixture.

During fruiting

It is very important to monitor how the fruits ripen, and feed them with vitamins during this period. To prepare, you must mix bird droppings (one bucket) and three glasses of nitrophoska. Then this mixture is filled with water and stirred. The solution must be infused during the week.

Regular fertilizers, especially fertilizing eggplants after picking, will help young plants to get stronger and provide you with a rich harvest.

Features fertilizing culture on fertile and poor soil

If the plant is planted in good soil, mulching which occurs regularly, the first dressing should be carried out in the first stages of budding. The second time to apply fertilizer is before harvesting, and the third - during the formation of fruits on the lateral processes. For this you can use the following mixtures:

  • ammonium nitrate solution - 5 g,
  • superphosphate solution - 20 g,
  • a solution of potassium chloride - 10 g
This number is calculated per 1 square. m of soil. The second feeding of potassium and phosphorus will require twice as much.

Also for fertilizer, you can use a mixture of manure of humus or rotted compost. On 1 square. m will need 6 kg.

If the soil in which the eggplants are planted is rather poor, it will be necessary to feed every two weeks. The first is performed 14 days after disembarkation. To prepare the mixture dissolve 2 g of mineral fertilizers in a bucket of water. Water at the rate of 0.5 liters per bush.

When the second feeding can be the ideal option is organic. To do this, 1 kg of mullein must be diluted in a bucket of water. The resulting solution should be infused for seven days, after which it is mixed and watered with plants of 0.5 l per shrub.

The third and fourth dressing can be done with urea. One bucket of it will require one tablespoon. Under each bush pour 1 liter of the mixture.

The key to a rich harvest is not only the care of seedlings and watering plants. Fertilizers, which allow to increase the yield and make the fruit better, become integral assistants in this matter.

Top dressing seedlings eggplant

Not every gardener is able to grow good seedlings, but eggplants are grown in the northern and middle regions by the seedling method. So you need to know exactly how to feed young shoots so that they develop quickly and correctly.

Photo growing eggplant seedlings at home

Eggplant seedlings for the entire period of ripening sprouts need to feed about 3 times. Though many gardeners use 1 top dressing and grow up good plants. Why is that? Because the quality of the seedlings depends not only on fertilizers, but also on the general care, lighting, temperature in the room, land and seeds. So, it is not necessary to feed the saplings often - you need to look at their condition and in which case immediately respond with response measures. In any case, the first feeding of eggplants should be carried out no earlier than 20 days after the emergence of sprouts!

A glass of wood ash interferes in a liter of boiling water and insist at least one night. After that, the water is filtered and diluted in a bucket of water to reduce the concentration. 20 g of the resulting solution is poured under each sprout. This will slow the stretching of the seedlings, and increase the nutritional value of the soil. The procedure is repeated not earlier than in a fortnight.

3-4 banana skins are poured with 1.5 liters of boiling water and infused for 3 days. Used under the root to enrich the sprouts with potassium.

Photo eggplant seedlings. Eggplant seedling care and picking

After picking sprouts in individual cups, it is necessary to feed sprouts with complex minerals, for example, “Ideal” or “Kemira wagon”. For the preparation of the working composition on a teaspoon of one of these drugs is taken 5 liters of water. It is possible to use solutions every 12-16 days.

3 g of superphosphate and 1 g of urea are mixed in a liter of water. The resulting substance is poured at the root.

If the seedlings stopped growing, and the leaves began to change color, they use the drug "Senor Tomato" or "Ideal" according to the instructions.

"Agricola-Forte" and "Wage earner" are used to strengthen the root system.

It is also worth noting that biological preparations "Healthy Garden", "Bioton" and "Biohumus" are well suited for feeding eggplant seedlings.

Feeding eggplant with iodine

Iodine for plants is no less useful than for humans. If eggplants miss him, the fruits will decrease, the plant will slow down growth, flowering, resistance to diseases and pests will decrease. The first eggplants feeding with iodine can be carried out for seedlings. To do this, 10 liters of water is taken only a drop of iodine. The solution is mixed and used for watering instead of water once.

Photo of iodine and the result of the growth of eggplants

You can also use such a solution for tillage in the greenhouse or for picking eggplant sprouts, but no later than 15 days before planting. This will disinfect the soil and increase seedling resistance to bacteria and fungal spores.

How to feed the eggplant after transplanting?

After eggplant seedlings are planted in a permanent place, you can make the first feeding. Usually it is done about a week after planting, so that the cultures have time to settle down.

Features of growing and caring for eggplants

Eggplants love slightly acidified, light, nutrient-rich soils. Grows best after cabbage, cucumbers, onions, and green manures. - winter wheat, alfalfa, mustard, phacelia, as well as after any perennial grasses. The content of humus in the soil solution should be high, so organic fertilizers should be applied under eggplants in the fall and spring. In the fall, apply fresh manure, in the spring - humus and peat. After green manure crops, we will need about 250 kg of manure per 1 hectare of eggplants. For depleted soil - up to 400 kg / 1 weaving.

As you can see, the need for eggplants in organic fertilizers is high, but this entails significant costs, especially in cases where there is no own farm for breeding poultry or livestock. Therefore, the manure under the eggplant lay on the site once per calendar year, and then use agrochemicals for root dressings. For spraying, you can use both chemical additives and organic as a "green fertilizer" and humates.

Please note that most of the nutrients (up to 85% of the total consumption) eggplants learn during the fruiting period.

By the time the fruits are formed, the nutrients from the mineral fertilizers are already used up, and the organic matter applied in spring and autumn has time to decompose. Due to this, the plant continues to develop normally and ends the growing season with full fruiting. In order to grow eggplant in the open field has the maximum result, use a mixed type of fertilizer:

  • the use of organic matter - in spring or autumn when digging, as well as for foliar dressings,
  • mineral fertilizers - to make dressings for the root.

Scheme feeding in the open field

  2. before the beginning of flowering - the interval with the first application is 20 days, nitrogen-containing agrochemicals containing phosphorus and potassium are used, the use of complete complex fertilizers is possible,
  3. in the phase of the beginning of fruiting - nitrogen is eliminated, the introduction of phosphorus and potassium is considered to be the main one, the compositions are prepared from single-component fertilizers, as nitrogen is present in the complex.

Spraying rules

Growing and caring for eggplants will be effective if you follow some rules of spraying. The fact is that the upper part of the eggplant leaf plate has a protective layer that prevents the penetration of nutrients. But the lower part is equipped with special stomata, through which food is absorbed faster.

When spraying, lift the branches so that the main part of the solution falls on the lower part of the leaves.

When and how to feed the eggplants

For the first time, fertilizers are introduced under eggplants 12 to 14 days after their seedlings have been transplanted to the beds or to greenhouse conditions. As a fertilizer, use mullein or chicken manure. A half-liter can of a solution of manure or bird droppings is taken on a bucket of water, a teaspoon of phosphate fertilizer and about 140 g of wood ash are usually added to this liquid fertilizer.

Next time you need to feed the eggplants when the first flowers appear on the bushes. To do this, prepare such a liquid fertilizer: in 10 liters of water dilute 1 teaspoon of ammonium nitrate, 1.5 teaspoons of potassium chloride and 2 tablespoons of superphosphate. It is better to dilute these mineral fertilizers in slightly warmed water for their best and quickest dissolution.

Once again, this vegetable culture is fed with nutrients during the ripening period of the fruit. The composition of the fertilizer solution includes fertilizers containing nitrogen and potassium. It is believed that the dose of these fertilizers should be doubled in relation to the amount of fertilizer applied during the eggplant flowering period.

After applying the solutions with fertilizers, the plant should be watered for better absorption of nutrients.

When eggplants begin to bear fruit, they should be fed regularly every 5 to 7 days before the end of the fruiting. The amount of nitrogen fertilizers in the process of dressing smoothly increase to 1 tablespoon per 1 m².

Eggplants are very capricious, they react to any change in weather conditions. So, if in the summer the weather does not indulge on sunny days, it rains constantly and overcast, then the amount of fertilizers containing potassium in top dressing is increased by 20%. In addition to liquid fertilizers, 2 cups of wood ash should be added to each bush of this vegetable plant.

If the amount of fertilizer applied to this vegetable does not exceed the norm, then as a result you can get a good harvest of eggplants. But once again we remind you that it is difficult to observe the norms of fertilizer application, and this applies not only to private farms, but also to industrial vegetable growing. The collective farm land is already so saline that only “selected” weeds can grow there.

And if you got such a plot, then you need to restore the soil, and therefore read the books on eco-farming and think about where to start the introduction of organic farming in your plot. Then the eggplants to the table will be without any chemistry, but as much as necessary. Well, how to do without chemistry?

Use of natural dressings

The use of natural supplements is the first step in obtaining ecological products. Many eco-feeds can be obtained from available tools:

  • weed infusion. Gather mowed grass and / or weed weeds, and pour water without chlorine. Depending on the weather, they ferment for 7-10 days under a lid. After the cessation of gas evolution, the infusion can be applied by diluting 10 times for feeding eggplants under the root, and 20 times for spraying,
  • wood ash solution is prepared from 1.5 cups of ash diluted in 10 liters of water. He insists for several days, occasionally stirring. Then filter or wait for the detachment, merging for the foliar top dressing the light part of the solution,
  • compost tea. Potato peelings are boiled in a 2-liter saucepan, and after cooling, ½ cup of compost and 1 tbsp of old jam are added.

About the proportions when using mullein and chicken manure, we have already said, we will not repeat. But even with their help, excess salt can accumulate in the fruit, if you do not pay attention to the soil. Therefore, the next step to obtaining healthy food will be to take care of the earth.

Soil recovery with EMoc

Recently, among the "popular" recipes have become popular. yeast for feeding eggplant. In fact, this is not a direct feeding of the plant, but mediated - there are no nutrients in the yeast, but these are living microorganisms that loosen the earth and contribute to the improvement of its structure.

By absorbing the amino acids and sugars secreted by plant roots and soil bacteria, they exchange natural antibiotics and enzymes with them, stimulating the growth of eggplant roots. Eggplant immunity increases significantly when yeast is used.

In general, yeast is a natural component of the microflora of the earth, and in order for the soil to become fertile without any chemicals, eco-farmers apply EM-technologies in the garden plot. Do not worry, this is not just a replacement of some vaunted drugs for others - it is not necessary to buy useful microbes annually, you must first “cure” the soil from pathogens, and no more.

We, for example, switched to organic farming, when we noticed that the harvests are steadily going down and no feeding patterns help. Vegetables have become increasingly subject to all sorts of wilting, although watering is provided regularly. Perhaps, for you, feeding of eggplants will most likely become a milestone on the way to healthy vegetables, and not an end in itself.
