    History reference

Lyonian vulgaris as a remedy was used in ancient times. Ancient healers applied a poultice of flaxaca leaves to the inflamed eyes to stop tearing. An ointment from a mixture of dry flaxseed powder with lard was applied to children's ulcers, for healing and scarring, and the plant juice was given to drink during the day. Flax grass powder sprinkled with old ulcers, places affected by fire, fistula with pus. The juice of flaxseed grass and plantain leaves in equal parts was given to a patient suffering from bloody diarrhea.

It was believed that if a person consumes syrup (with a small amount of olive oil) from flaxseed grass when the Sun enters the constellation of Aries, then he may not be afraid of poisons from snake bites, scorpions during the year, and will also be spared from all evil (ancient treatise Amirdovlat Amasiiatsiya). Therefore, the medicine from flax was called "saving, eliminating," which saves from all kinds of poison and protects from it.
