Dear readers, today we will talk about an amazing plant, the history of the use of which for medicinal purposes is more than a thousand years old and can serve as the basis for an exciting adventure film or book. This plant was used by the ancient Scythians to treat, rejuvenate and prolong the life of only members of the royal family and only the male sex.

Why only ancient healers cared so much about men? The fact is that the rulers were afraid that women would not be able to keep the recipes for using the wonderful plant in secret and that it would become known to the hostile tribes. What is this plant? This is astragalus or, if applied to Scythians, then astragalus is woolly-flowered.

Stop the progression of heart disease, improve blood circulation and relieve shortness of breath Astragalus woolly-flowered. It is necessary to mix, previously crushed, 1.5 tsp. Astragalus herbs, 1 tsp. Adonis spring herbs and valerian roots, pour 150-170 ml of vodka over the mixture, leave for 2 weeks, strain and take 12-15 drops 2 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

From tachycardia You can get rid of it if you chop and mix 10 g of astragalus grass and hawthorn flowers, pour 150 ml boiling water in the thermos, draw for 1 hour, strain and drink 50 ml 3 times a day. You can add to taste honey. Take the infusion, daily cooking fresh, for 5-7 days.

Any hypertension, as well as heart failure will prevail astragal woolly-flowered. It should be 1-2 st.l. chopped herbs pour a glass of boiling water, leave for 1 hour, strain and take 1–2 tbsp. 3-5 times a day for half an hour before meals to improve the state.

Improves the condition of diabetchikov. It should be 1-2 st.l. chopped herbs pour 200 ml of boiling water, strain it in an hour, add natural honey to taste and take 1-2 tbsp. 3-5 times a day 30-40 minutes before meals.

To eliminate tinnitus in Meniere's disease with dizziness, nausea and vomitinga place with the reception of the above herbal infusions and tinctures of Echinacea, you need to eat more bitter peppers and drink cooked, like tea, infusion of Astragalus woolly-flowered. In no case do not use when dizzy eggplant. If the cause of noise is an allergy, then the diet should include mulberries, blueberries and ginger.

Coxarthrosis. Mix a 200-gram glass of calamus root and woolly-flowered astragalus (in a pharmacy, on the market), boil in 5 liters of water for 5 minutes, remove from heat and let stand for 3 hours. Strain into the bath, add hot water, and sit around for 30 minutes.

After the bath, when the pain goes away, immediately start doing exercises to prevent hip joints from cartilage: - lying in bed, grasping one leg under the knee in the lock, tighten it gently with your knee 10 times to the chin.

Do the same with the other leg, - just lying in bed, lift your legs up and a minute or two while resting, do the exercise "bicycle" - stand with one foot on a chair, set the other one backwards and make strong oblique deflection of the body forward by holding your hand over the back of the chair.

Then swap the legs and do the same. And so no less than 10 times with each leg - holding something with your hands, crouch down and perform 10 to 20 times strong springy squats, taking out the heels of the buttocks.

Taking a day or every day for a month or two of therapeutic baths and doing the exercises mentioned above will give the desired result. This method of treatment is preferably carried out in the evening before bedtime.

In the morning, be sure to perform 10-12 minutes of the above-described exercises. One infusion of herbs can be steamed up to three times, only heating it in the evening.

After doing the exercises, be sure to rub the sore spot with red hot Menovazin tincture (at the pharmacy).

From the Editor

The author of this book is a professional journalist who, with surprising enthusiasm, conducts her investigations in areas where, it would seem, there is nothing special to investigate. In fact, who would have thought that around the next healing weed, which, in fact, a huge amount is known, can political tensions become so hot?

We publish the text of the book without cuts, the way it came to us. All questions - to the author and his correspondents. Everything seemed very convincing and interesting to us. However, we cannot vouch for the authenticity of the material of journalistic investigation presented on the pages of the book.

As for the healing properties of astragalus, they are undoubted. Use them for your own benefit, heal, rejuvenate, be healthy and happy.

Dear readers! The experience of folk healing shows that with the help of astragal can cure many diseases. However, giving you such a powerful elixir of health, we emphasize: do not use it thoughtlessly, do not refuse the treatment prescribed to you by your doctor, if possible, consult with your therapist if you have any contraindications for taking infusions, decoctions, extracts Astragalus Usually such does not happen. But each organism is individual. Remember this. And further. To start, make a "sample": brew yourself a light seagull of astragalus, drink some astragal water. If suddenly you are predisposed to allergies to this medicinal herb, you will have to abandon it, although its healing and rejuvenating effect is obvious. Treat yourself carefully, and everything will be fine with you.

How I learned about the grass of life

This story began with the fact that I finally, despite my workload, got out to visit one of my long-time acquaintance.

And there, over a delicious homemade cake with apples and fragrant tea, when all the news was already told to each other, my friend suddenly remembered:

- Yes, by the way, my father, you know, he always had very high pressure and heart of discord, he found wonderful weed. I drank it for six months, and a week ago I went to the clinic and practically scared my doctor. The doctor measured his pressure, examined him and was very surprised. He not only found no trace of the former hypertension, but also found that my father was completely healthy, and even seemed younger by several years. And one friend recommended that herb to him. He lives in Crimea, we visited him before in the summer. He is also a journalist, like you, he worked in a Sevastopol newspaper, now, of course, he is already retired. This father brought grass from the Crimea and brought it, too, they say, it grows in the Volga region, but in pharmacies it is not for sale. I calculated it on personal experience. In the pharmacy reference, they know about this herb, it is recognized by official medicine, but they don’t bring it to us. My father believes that this is all because of the dark story that happened with this grass in the days of the Soviet Union ...

- What is the dark story? - I could not stand it. “Anyway, you didn't even tell me what this“ miracle ”is called. What kind of secrets are these? Maybe you still tell me that this plant is some kind of magical? In the love potion does not accidentally add it?

“But you laugh in vain,” my friend looked surprisingly serious, “this herb, by the way, was known as a medicine in the fifth century BC.” It was used by the Scythians, they called it “the grass of life”. And in her love potion, they really add it, you guessed it. It is generally widely used in the so-called love magic, in particular, as the strongest tool that promotes conception.

- Well, so it is called as? Or is it a secret too? - I could not stand it again. This strange grass was already beginning to interest me.

- No, why not. The official name of this plant is Astragalus woolly-flowered. And you can read about it in any reference book on medicinal plants. It is valued in traditional medicine, and official medicine recognizes and respects it. And most herbalists use it. But everyone knows that ...

- And what is unknown? - I suddenly woke up journalistic excitement.

“And the fact that two main villains of the last century were vital in this grass — Stalin and Hitler, since both considered it the main ingredient in the elixir of immortality, no more and no less!”

After these words of my girlfriend, I had nothing to do, just ask, ask and ask. And then go to the Crimea, to visit Konstantin Mikhailovich, the very Simferopol journalist who found information about this amazing story in the Soviet archives, which had ceased to be secret after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

What dreamed Hitler's personal doctor. In search of the royal grass of the Scythians

And here I am already sitting on the plane, and he carries me to Simferopol. From there I travel by bus to Planersky, or Koktebel, as this village was called at the beginning of the twentieth century. At that time, he was the most fashionable place in the Crimea among the tsarist creative intelligentsia, and then Soviet Russia.

The house of Konstantin Mikhailovich was almost near the sea, on a hill. The house is small, with a wooden carved veranda entwined with grapes, and the site is small, but the view from here turned out to be simply incomparable: a flat semicircle of the bay, as if drawn by compasses, bordered along the edges by mountains.

“You were lucky,” Konstantin Mikhailovich told me, “usually at this time, at the end of October, fog almost every day, the sea is not visible from here. And today is a clear, sunny day. We sat on the veranda and talked about our mutual friends. And for some reason I could not get to the topic that interested me, although the purpose of my visit to him was to Konstantin Mikhailovich known and discussed with him in advance. Feeling this indecision of mine, Konstantin Mikhailovich himself began to tell the story for which I changed all my plans and rushed here to the already cold and non-resort Black Sea.

- It all started with the light hand of Gerhard Madaus, Adolf Hitler's personal physician for medicinal plants. The life of this Madus became the writing of the World encyclopedia of medicinal plants. The second, no less important goal, which he sought to achieve as a research scientist, was to find the “Scythian grass of life” that the Goths discovered for themselves, having come to the Crimean peninsula in the third century and finally defeated the Taurian Scythians here. The herb of life, among the Scythians, it was called “royal grass”, was used by Scythian healers to treat kings and members of the royal family. Interestingly, the use of "royal grass" for the treatment of commoners was prohibited by law and punishable by death. So this was the deadly grass of life.

- But why? - I was surprised. - Should there be any reason for such an injustice? And from what were the Scythians treated with this very grass?

- This injustice was justified, it was done so that none of the cured would accidentally reveal the secret of this drug, and the secret would not become the property of the neighboring tribes hostile to the Scythians. And cured with the help of this herb no more no less than from old age. That's it. It turns out that even in those ancient and wild times, humanity was closer to the dream of personal immortality than it is now. Although the method of using the “herb of life” was something special among the Scythians. The grass was boiled in mare's milk, and something else was added there. But the basis, of course, was the “grass of life”. Regarding the use of "royal grass" there were other strict prescriptions that should be followed. Thus, all men of the royal family were obliged to take it regularly, starting at the age of forty-five. And women, regardless of their origin, were forbidden to use this herb. And not because of the fact that it was harmful for them, because afterwards the “grass of life”, that is, the astrohalus of the flowering flower, was widely used in the treatment of gynecological diseases. It can be assumed that such an injustice is due to excessive female talkativeness and inability to keep secrets ... But you can say, the Scythian men of the royal family were lucky.

- And what exactly was expressed in the rejuvenating effect of the “royal herb”?

- Astragalus woolly-flowered has a regenerating effect directly on the heart and blood vessels. Therefore, no atherosclerosis, ischemic disease, myocardial infarction. He also has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and the brain. By the way, research on astragalus Alzheimer's disease is now being conducted in Europe. It has a beneficial effect on reproductive function, and on almost all internal organs - the digestive system, liver and kidneys. It is also used in diseases of the joints, skin diseases and metabolic diseases. Modern folk healers with astragalus treat even cancer. Interesting?

“Very interesting,” I nodded. “But where did Madaus get this plant from?”

- Gerhard Madaus found out about the “grass of life” from later descriptions, and not only Gothic. The "Scythian" or "royal" grass was also mentioned by the Greeks, who lived at that time in the Crimea. And it was from Greek sources that Gerhard Madaus learned about the so-called “golden herbalist” of the Scythians, which was kept in the treasury of the Scythian kings. But then, after the final defeat of the Scythians by the Gothic tribes, the herbalist disappeared, and all traces of him were lost. So, the Greeks describe this herbalist as a set of gold plates the size ... well, if we translate it into our length measures, then about 16 by 14 centimeters, each of which has an image of a medicinal plant in the center, and at the bottom of the plate is an image of the disease cured. The drawings were relief and obviously not of Greek origin, which is also surprising, since it is known that all the so-called Scythian gold was made for them by Greek masters. Madus was very interested in this Scythian herbalist and especially one of the tablets ...

- Is the grass of life? - I could not resist.

- She is the most! - he nodded. “And on the tablet dedicated to her from below, where the allegorical form depicted a disease from which this herb cured ... Guess what was there?”

“I think a vigorous old man ...”

- Almost guessed. There was depicted an old man with a flowing long beard and mustache, galloping on horseback. And you need to remind you that the nomads man was considered a man and a full member of society, as long as he had enough strength to stay in the saddle. After all, they moved across the steppe exclusively on horseback. Male warriors on horseback, and women, children and old men - in carts.

- You said that after the Goths defeated the Scythian kingdom, the golden herbalist was lost.

- Lost. But not really. There were Gothic traditions that he was buried somewhere in the state of the East in the Crimea, which lasted here for about ten centuries, from the third century AD. And when the war began with the Soviet Union and the fascist troops occupied the Crimean peninsula, Madaus realized that it was time, his finest hour had come. And he made a report to Hitler about the "Scythian grass of life" and the emerging prospects. Hitler appreciated the idea and transferred it to development in Ahnenerb. And Gerhard Madaus appointed project manager. That project was called “The Grass of Immortality”. Yes, and one more thing. The third volume of his encyclopedia Madaus completely, while others partially copied from the herbalist of the library of Ivan the Terrible. And there, too, there is a description of astragalus, only Madaus did not recognize this plant. And all because in Russia at that time different plants were sometimes called the same. Here and "gold minder" two plants were called. One of them is now called the centaury, and the other was later called astragalus woolly-flowering. - Konstantin Mikhailovich opened a plump folder, in which a lot of documents were filed, found the right one and continued: - This is how the astragalus is described in Ivan the Terrible's herbalist: and thick and long, like field fingers. It is good for ulcers and boils, and it will clean the hypodermic worm ... This herb is useful for every person in ailments. "

Secret development of Anenerbe and what the Nazis found in the occupied Crimea

The next day, we continued to talk about the "grass of life." We no longer succeeded in settling on the veranda, admiring the magnificent sea view, - in the morning a dense fog descended on the valley, and then charged a never-ending autumn rain. So I armed myself with a dictaphone, and Konstantin Mikhailovich lit a pipe with aromatic tobacco, and we nestled in his office comfortably. For some reason, this cabinet reminded me of the mysterious abode of a medieval alchemist: all the walls are occupied by racks with ancient folios pulled into leather, on a huge table in the middle of the room there are some yellowed scrolls and glass bottles with strange contents, a pile of dried herbs everywhere piled on over the desk - a stuffed huge owl.

- So, according to the "Scythian grass" a special project was organized in Ahnenerb.

“Anenerbe,” I nodded, “is translated as ancestral heritage.”

“The full name of this organization is“ German Society for the Study of Ancient German History and Heritage of Ancestors, ”Konstantin Mikhailovich continued the story,“ and it was created in 1933 to study everything related to the spirit, deeds, traditions, distinctive features and heritage "Indo-Germanic Nordic race." And all this was done for the sole purpose of confirming the superiority of the Aryan race within the racial doctrine of national socialism. Since 1938, all German archaeological excavations were carried out only with the knowledge of the society Ahnenerbe. Solid funding has allowed many first-class university scholars to be attracted to research, with the help of which certain successes were achieved: excavations of Viking fortifications of the 9th century were made, and expeditions to Tibet and the Middle East took place. And when the Crimea was occupied, German scientists took up the study of ancient settlements and barrows here and they still managed to find something ...

- Is the Scythian herbalist?

- Well, not all, of course, but five tablets, and among them and with the image of "the grass of immortality." It was fantastic luck. And even the place where this amazing find was made is known - on the territory of the modern Mangup reserve, in the place of a hundred ancient Yankees of the Ost - Goth. These plates were immediately sent to Germany, but they had previously made photographs of them.

- And then where did these signs go? Something I have not met anywhere about them.

- And do not meet. These tablets disappeared without a trace in 1945, when, on the personal instruction of Himmler, the fortress Felezburg was blown up and almost all Ahnenerbe's research was destroyed under its rubble. It can be assumed that the invaluable Scythian tablets were previously taken out of Felezburg and somewhere very well hidden. It is possible that they were in some private collection.

- And what happened to the photographs taken from the tablets?

- According to these photos, scientists from Anenerbe began to look for "the grass of immortality" on the territory of the Crimean peninsula. At that time, the Germans knew little about astragalus. Appearance - approximate, where it grows - is unclear. In general, they climbed the entire peninsula. And thus attracted the attention of the Crimean partisans, who, just in case, reported on these searches to Moscow. Moscow did not attach much importance to this information, especially when they realized that the Germans were looking for just some kind of plant, even if it was a medicinal plant. But then, just in case, they asked for clarification from our intelligence officer, who was at that time an officer of Anenerbe. He collected material on the “Grass of Immortality” project and sent information to Moscow. And since the project was supervised by Hitler himself, showing great interest in him, they then reported on the project to Stalin. At that moment, of course, Stalin was not up to it, in some difficult “Scythian grass” interested him in difficult wartime. But Joseph Vissarionovich would not be at the very top, if he did not know how to attach importance to things like minor things and things that seem insignificant from the side. Information on the "grass of immortality," he studied and remembered. Moreover, by that time German scientists still found “Scythian grass” in the Crimea, brought it to Germany and began to study it closely.

The elixir of immortality personally for Comrade Stalin

“In the summer of 1951, doctors diagnosed Stalin with atherosclerosis and recommended him rest, and only, there was no medicine for this disease at that time,” Konstantin Mikhailovich continued his story.

- Is medicine a science? - Stalin asked.

- Yes, Comrade Stalin, science.

- Is there progress in science?

- Yes, Comrade Stalin.

- So, there is progress in medicine?

- Yes, Comrade Stalin, there is, but science still does not know how to treat this disease.

- So, in general there is progress in medicine, but when it comes to Comrade Stalin, there is no progress?

And, most likely, after this dialogue, which was not too comforting for Stalin, he recalled the "Scythian grass of immortality" that Hitler so aggressively hunted for. Hitler did not have enough time to experience the effect of astragalus. But Stalin, the leader of the greatest state in the world, has every opportunity to try out this famous Scythian medicine. And Stalin ordered to summon academician Vinogradov, who at that time was the chief physician of the Kremlin’s Medical Sanitary Board. Stalin, of course, trusted Vinogradov, but it is necessary to take into account the fact that he, not unreasonably fearing an attempt on his life, was always afraid of poisoning. Stalin considered a potential poisoner of any member of the Politburo. So, it is known that, sitting down with his colleagues at the table, Stalin first forced each of them to try everything that was served under different, though very transparent pretexts, and only after that he began to drink and eat. That Stalin was most afraid of poisoning, shows the thoroughness with which the food served at his table was selected. So, the fish was brought to him from special ponds, pheasants and lambs — from special nurseries, and Georgian wine of special bottling and fresh vegetables, fruits and greens were delivered from the south by plane. And special doctors subjected to chemical analysis for poisons all these food products, which seem to be so carefully selected. Each bundle with bread, meat or fruit was accompanied by a special "act", sealed and signed by a doctor with the note: "No toxic substances were found." And in the Kremlin apartment of Stalin "they took air samples" from all the rooms. About this, in particular, writes his daughter, Svetlana Alliluyeva, in her book “Only one year”. And, apparently, therefore, Stalin was so wary of any drugs that were prescribed to him. But he trusted Academician Vinogradov, and therefore he gave him a secret assignment concerning the "Scythian herb of immortality." There were materials from Ahnenerbe there were photos of the plant, there were ancient recipes. It only remained to develop and experimentally test the medicine for Comrade Stalin. Stalin could not wait, Stalin could die without appropriate treatment. And the work on creating a new super medicine for the leader moved forward at full speed. According to the materials of the same Anenerbe, it turned out that the astragalus woolly-flowered, although in small quantities, was distributed practically throughout the entire Crimean peninsula. The corresponding maps were attached to these materials by Anenerbe, where the distribution points of this plant were indicated. Further, scientists-biologists specializing in the study of medicinal plants were involved in the work. It turned out that this type of astragalus is also found in the Volga region and in Central Asia. They also began to study local folk recipes, in which the woolly-flowered astragalus was used. Finally, drugs were created on the basis of astragalus. Experimentally, testing of preparations was carried out initially on animals, including the anthropoid monkeys specially purchased abroad. The intermediate results of the experiments were simply amazing. Vinogradov immediately reported this to Stalin. Next, the drug began to prescribe to patients of a Moscow polyclinic. Moreover, research was conducted in the strictest confidence. None of the patients knew exactly what medicine he was taking. Information on the change in the condition of patients was carefully recorded by their attending physicians, who also did not know what kind of medicine their patients were taking. Patients with a diagnosis of atherosclerosis and stroke patients were mainly selected. And again the results were fantastic. According to the attending physicians, 93% of the subjects who took the drug, created on the basis of woolly-flowered astragalus, began to experience persistent improvements in their health status, and all 100% of the patients participating in the experiment themselves noted a slight change in their state of health in the direction of reducing negative feelings. Stalin reported on this. And that was the moment of decisive action.

- Did Stalin, for all his manic suspicion, decided to take a medicine that was not officially recognized? - I was amazed.

“Well, no, of course,” Konstantin Mikhailovich calmed me down. - You are, of course, right. Such a test really seemed insufficient to Stalin. And he gave the following order - to use "Scythian grass" for treating patients of the Kremlin hospital. Secretly, of course. Only doctors of the Kremlin hospital of Vinogradov and Egorov were aware of what was happening. Academician Vinogradov at that time, as I said, was the chief physician of the Kremlin’s Medical Sanitary Department, and Professor Yegorov was the head of the Medical Sanitary Department. Astragalus again showed amazing results. And in the fall of 1952, Stalin decided on the treatment of "the royal grass of immortality." But by January of the following year a new difficulty arose. The better Stalin became, and the more successful his treatment was, the more often he began to think about the unreliability of Vinogradov and Egorov. Yes, and members of the Politburo, who also took the drug Astragalus in the Kremlin hospital, seemed to him not too suspicious. There is a cure for the disease of the leader, a cure for the disease of the leader works, but the leader of the long-lived does not need long-serving servants. Well, how about Beria or anyone else's miracle remedy. The field for intrigue and fraud could have developed just the colossal. And Stalin ripened a plan - to eliminate all the doctors who knew about the "royal grass", and all the patients of the Kremlin hospital from the Politburo, who were assigned astragalus.

- Is the case of pest doctors somehow connected with “Scythian grass”? - I just jumped in amazement.

“Of course, the pest doctors' case was fabricated for completely different reasons,” Konstantin Mikhailovich reassured me. “But we all know that Stalin loved complex multi-pass combinations.” Please note, it does not seem strange to you that there are two Russian surnames in the list of Jewish doctors accused of sabotage and espionage: Egorov and Vinogradov? But it is also not a secret to anyone that the next strike in the spring of 1953 should have been directed against members of the Politburo. So it all fits. And only Stalin’s death prevented events from evolving in this way.

“But there’s a fairly common version, according to which Stalin’s death was violent.” And all the same Politburo members headed by Beria are guilty of it.

- Yes, there is such a version. And, by the way, it is known that, according to many, at the end of the winter of 1953, Stalin felt fine. So, for example, on February 17 he received Indian Ambassador K. Menon and had a long conversation with him. According to C. Menon, Stalin, despite his seventy-three years, looked like a perfectly healthy person. Menon writes about this in his book The Flying Troika, published in London in 1963. So, Stalin, despite the successful treatment and good health, died in early March 1953, and the secret medicine ... His trace is lost for a while. I recall only that soon the doctors of the Kremlin hospital of Vinogradov and Egorov were rehabilitated.

What plants mean by the name Astragalus?

It is well known that, according to the rules, the botanical name of any plant consists of two words, the first of which is the name of the genus, and the second is the specification, which is, in fact, the name of the species. For example, the full name of a plant is written as Astragalus woolly-flowering, where the word "Astragalus" is the name of the genus, and "woolly-flowering" is a refinement indicating a particular species. The plant Astragalus membranous also belongs to the genus "Astragalus", but is a different species than the woolly-flowered.

In everyday life, various plants are almost always called in one word, which reflects the name of the genus. But since in everyday conversation it is always clear what the other person implies, calling this or that plant in one word, then it is not necessary to clarify what kind of species we are talking about. However, the situation with astragalus is somewhat different.

So, under the common name "Astragal" combined several species of plants belonging to the same genus. The fact is that Astragalus is the name of the genus, which includes more than 1500 species of medicinal shrubs, herbs and dwarf shrubs. Most commonly, the common name "Astragalus" implies either Astragalus woolly-flowering or Astragalus webbed. These two types of plants of the genus Astragalus have the most powerful healing properties and are used in alternative medicine.

Astragalus has the most powerful healing properties, which is used in traditional Chinese medicine and grows in Transbaikalia, the Far East, China and Mongolia. Astragal woolly-flowering has similar properties, which grows on the European continent in temperate latitudes and, in fact, is the European analogue of the webbed Astragalus.

In the further text of the article, we will consider the properties and methods of the therapeutic use of Astragal woolly-flowering and Astragal webbed, combining them under the short name Astragal, since, in fact, they are analogs. We will use the full name of the plant species only if necessary to indicate any features.

general characteristics

Astragalus is a genus of herbaceous, shrubby and semi-shrub plants belonging to the legume family. Astragalus includes about 1600 different plant species, some of which are used as medicinal herbs. Currently, in Russia and the countries of the former USSR, the following two types of Astragalus are used as medicinal herbs:

  • Astragalus woolly-flowered , also called Astragalus densely flowered, Astragalus fluffy flowering or Astragalus dasyánthus Pall,
  • Astragalus webbed , which is also called Astragalus filmy or Astragalus membranaceus.

Both of these types of Astragal have very similar properties, so they are conventionally considered analogues of each other. However, the Astragalus webbed has a more powerful therapeutic effect compared to the woolly-flowered.

Since Astragalus woolly-flowering and Astragalus webbed are used in the treatment of the same conditions or diseases, they are often not separated, but are combined under the one common name Astragalus. In the following text, we will also combine both plant species under the same name, and we’ll indicate the full name of the species only if it is necessary to focus on any of its features.

Astragalus woolly-flowered

Astragalus sherstistotsvetkovy is a perennial grass with complex leaves feathery form and light yellow flowers. On the surface of all parts of the plant there are protruding thin whitish or yellowish soft hairs, creating the effect of pubescence. Fruits are lightly pubescent beans with a length of 10 - 12 mm.

Astragalus sherstistotsvetkovy grows in the southern and middle belt of the European part of the former USSR (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, European part of Russia) in the steppes, forest-steppe and mixed forests.

For medical use, Astragal woolly-flowering grass is harvested. Harvesting is carried out during the flowering period (May-June), cutting off the stem at a height of 5-7 cm from the soil surface, after which it is dried in the shade at an air temperature of 50-55 o C. The grass should be cut before the fruits form. Dried grass can be stored in rag bags for a year.

Ready dried plants are used to prepare infusions used in the treatment of hypertension in the initial stages, circulatory failure of I or II degree, as well as acute glomerulonephritis.

Astragalus webbed

The webbed astragalus is a perennial herb with complex unpaired feathery leaves. Flowers of the plant are painted in yellow-white color and are collected in loose brushes, originating from the sinuses between the stem of the leaf and the stem. The fruit of the webbed Astragalus is a dense bean, covered in peel and hanging on a thin stalk.

The webbed Astragalus grows on the territory of the Korean Peninsula, Eastern Siberia, the Far East and China (Manchuria) in forests (coniferous and deciduous), in steppes, on the sandy banks of rivers, and also on the slopes of mountains covered with rubble.

For medical use, the roots, grass, leaves and fruits of Astragalus webbed are harvested. The grass and leaves are harvested during the flowering period (May-June), cutting off the stem at a height of 5 - 7 cm from the soil surface. The roots are dug out in the fall (September), and the fruits are picked unripe (August) when they have already grown, but their skin has not yet opened. The grass, leaves, roots and fruits of the plant after harvesting are dried in a dry, shaded place at a temperature of 50-55 o C. The finished dried parts of the plant (grass, leaves, fruits and roots) are stored in linen bags for a year.

In Europe and the United States, the root of Astragalum webbed is used as an immunostimulating and diuretic agent.

The herb of Astragal webbed is obstetric, as it accelerates the separation and exit of the placenta. In addition, the herb Astragal can be effective in the treatment of infertility and dropsy.

Astragalus # 8212, grass of the Kremlin leaders and Scythians

Astragalus is not only one of the most legendary medicinal plants of the past. This is the real golden grass! Small astragalus fields are often chosen closer to manganese and uranium ores, because they usually are accompanied by gold. Cunning grass is able to absorb it 100 times more than the earth contains! And astragalus enters the famous golden Scythian herbalist, irretrievably lost in time. The Kremlin leaders replaced all the gold and all the herbalists of the world with Astragalus - its healing properties helped them to gain health and new years in power ... Why do they say so little about this incredible grass and how will it help the ordinary person?

Astragalus - a trace in history and mythology

Astragalus has many names - cat peas, recount Polish, Scythian grass of life ... This plant became famous thanks to the Scythian tribes, who considered it an elite medicine for the noble nobility.

The grass of immortality cured the most severe ailments and helped the weak old men to sit in the saddle again and proudly ride across the steppe. But women and commoners to drink medicinal weed is strictly prohibited - the latter, even on pain of death.

In Greek mythology - a storehouse of romantic legends about flowers and trees - the astragalus remained as a symbol of eternal unrequited love. According to legend, the winged goddess Selena loved the earthly youth of Endymion, although she knew that there was no such love for the future. The goddess prayed to the thunderous Zeus, and he gave the young man an eternal dream to keep him alive. Every night, Selena went down to her sleeping beauty, kissed, hugged, cried, but he did not wake up. And with a wreath on the head of the goddess, golden flowers fell on the ground and immediately grew into beautiful astragalus ... Brad, though romantic # 8230,

What does official medicine think?

The official medicine of astragalus has always appreciated - its use began in times of antiquity. The Greek doctor Dioscorides was the godfather of cat peas - he gave the flower the name of the playing bone of mutton ankles, which astragalus seeds resembled.

The whole world has long learned about the Scythian grass of immortality, in many countries it is included in the official healing reference books. And in our country - only in the Red Book: until 1969, all information about research and experiments with astragalus was classified. Today, the most medicinal variety, Astrohalus sherstistotsvetkovy regains former popularity, the reviews of doctors about it are very good. Many practicing doctors recommend it to their patients for the treatment of hypertension (along with pharmaceutical medicines) and kidney ailments.

Scientifically proven - Astragalus is an excellent antidepressant and antibiotic, strengthens the heart and lowers blood pressure:

  • Cat's peas nourish the brain, help slow down the aging process and increase vitality. Western experts strongly advise drinking Astragalus infusions in Alzheimer's disease.
  • The vasodilating effect of weed has long been the talk of the town - after all, Astragalus does not just reduce the pressure. It improves the movement of blood in our body, helps supply tissues with oxygen and nutrients, removes headaches and returns the joy of life.
  • The soothing effect of astragalus makes it not just a herbal antidepressant, but also an excellent remedy for nerve ailments. Are you tormented with neurosis, insomnia, stress, or just a banal breakdown? Saves a glass of Scythian infusion.
  • With all sorts of infections, the herb Astragalus can also help, the healing properties of which have for several centuries helped combat all sorts of cocci and plasmas. Starting from intestinal poisoning and ending with colds and flu.

And what do popular recipes recommend?

Well, if official sources so favorably evaluate cat peas, then what about traditional healers? For several centuries, phytotherapy has accumulated dozens of recipes, where starring astragalus, a woolly and flowering flower, plays the main role in traditional medicine, which is much wider than in official medicine.

Scythian herb is used to treat hypertension and heart disease - ischemia, chronic insufficiency, strengthens blood vessels, dissolves tiny blood clots and cholesterol plaques. Relieves diabetes, treats gastrointestinal diseases, as well as kidney ailments.

Tired or diseased skin will also appreciate astragalus - the use of this ancient Greek miracle in traditional medicine will help get rid of traces of allergies and heal burns. And daily washings with decoction of cat's peas will restore skin elasticity, even color and young radiance!

Astragalus herbal gulls are a great way to calm the nerves after a serious shake, help with insomnia and irritability. To restore the brain, arms and legs after a stroke, Scythian decoction is also indispensable. On the Web, you can find messages from people who were able to bring their loved ones astragalus back to a previous life with a stroke, the most grateful feedback.

There are practically no contraindications for astragalus - an amazing thing for such a powerful medicine. Be wary of taking Scythian grass is worth expectant mothers, as well as persons with individual intolerance.

The main secret of the rulers of the Soviet Union

Five years ago, the whole country was stirred up by the book by journalist Elena Melekhova "Astragal - the herb of life of the Kremlin leaders." The author reveals in her the real wonders of phytotherapy - it turns out that it was Astragalus who helped support the clogged vessels of Stalin, the decrepit heart of Brezhnev, Andropov’s diseased kidneys.

It all began ... with Hitler. The personal doctor of Adolf Gerhardt Madaus considered the writing of the World Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants a matter of his whole life, where he wanted to add the Scythian grass of immortality - first for his beloved Führer. In search of a gold herbalist, recorded on clay tablets, the Germans wandered right into the Crimea, and then the story ends.

The next who remembered the grass of immortality was our “father of nations”, when doctors diagnosed him with terrible atherosclerosis. Stalin reasoned correctly: since Hitler did not find the instructions for use, then he may not have time, so it is easier to create everything from scratch. And he ordered to make medicine from astragalus, having tested it on the patients of Moscow polyclinics. The patients, I must say, were lucky, and Comrade Stalin received his personal elixir from all diseases.

After the death of the leader (the elixir is an elixir, but not of immortality!), The name Astragalus fell out of history for almost 15 years, and surfaced in 1967, when Yury Andropov became the head of the KGB. The old man, already sick and exhausted by life, brought with him to a good post of personal doctor, and he himself held out in power for several years, and he even managed to guide the country. And he was assisted by a supposedly magical recipe, which Andropov’s personal doctor knew, # 8212, an infusion of Scythian herb of eternal life ...

Кстати, чтобы узнать астрагал при встрече с ним в природе, посмотрите вот этот ролик:

Применение скифской травы в российской медицине

Сегодня для создания целебных заготовок из кошачьего гороха используются и трава, и корешки. Do not be alarmed if you find in the pharmacy or online store only astragalus root - its use is almost the same as that of the herb. The spine helps to relieve high blood pressure, and strengthen the immune system and raise morale is cleaner than ginseng with eleutherococcus!

Although Astragalus is listed in the Red Book and is found less and less on the fields of meadows, it can be purchased at a quite affordable price - within 100-150 rubles for 25 grams of leaves or roots. Tincture of Scythian weed will cost more - about 400 rubles per 100 ml, and modern syrups and extracts even more - up to several thousand per pack.

If you decide not to experiment and astragalus is already on the shelf, the application will not cause you difficulties. The main recipe of its preparation is an infusion.

Steam a tablespoon of weed in a glass of boiling water, wrap in a towel and wait 2 hours.

  • With hypertension, we drink 5 times a day in a table spoon. The duration of the course is better to discuss with your doctor, the standard scheme looks like this: a week of admission - a week break, 2 times a year.
  • If you suffer from heart disease and atherosclerosis, the dosage should be increased - half a bowl of Scythian decoction 30-60 minutes before meals, 3 times a day. Course - 2 weeks.
  • And in order to calm the nerves, we simply stretch a glass of broth for 3 days and drink it little by little.

What do patients say about astragalus?

Cat's peas are not among the most favorite herbs of Russians. Since this miracle has remained in the shadows for a long time - the Astragalus sherstistotsvetkovy astragalus, you will not find reviews about it so often. But everyone who has tried this medicine says that this is a true miracle of traditional medicine.

“My husband works as a driver, constantly suffers from pressure. Heard about astragalus, 6th day husband drinks infusion. And every morning at the medical examination before the trip he has perfect pressure, but this has not happened for several years! ”

“I have severe hypertension, I take pills, I go to the doctors in time - everything is useless. The new doctor said that it was impossible to do without popular recipes, he advised Astragalus. The pressure returned to normal within 3 months, and after another year the threat of crises was completely gone. Irritability disappeared, I didn’t break into household members, my legs and face stopped swelling. Anyone who suffers from pressure, definitely need to try! "

“I bought myself a Astragalus tincture for a tonic effect. I work a lot, I get wild, I don't get enough sleep all the time. From the first days I noticed that I started to get up more easily and have more time to do it, I am no longer so exhausted. In a few months I will definitely repeat the experiment. ”

The ancient Scythians called astragalus "grass of immortality." It was believed that those who regularly drink his infusions will live a long, active life, insure themselves against senile impotence. In the twentieth century, astragalus "classified", made a panacea for the elect. They were treated only "super": Hitler, Stalin, apparently, Andropov. For the people information about him was closed. For the first time in this book you will find a unique selection of recipes based on astragalus, as well as recommendations for its cultivation in the garden plot. Astragalus is a unique prophylactic and indispensable medicine for many ailments. The book will teach you how to apply it.

Astragalus - the grass of life of the Kremlin leaders

Astragalus - what a plant

Astragalus is the name of the genus, which includes about 2000 species of plants. Many of them are recognized as medicinal and grow in Western and Eastern Siberia, the Far East, and some in Central Asia. Others can be found in the European part of the CIS.

  • marsh,
  • Dahurian
  • shrub,
  • flowers,
  • rising,
  • Danish,
  • malt-leaved (sweet-leaved) and others.

Many species of astragalus are widely used in medicine - including official - Mongolia, Korea, China, including Tibet.

More information about the medicinal properties of this plant can be found in reference books Lavrenova G.V., Lavrenova V.K. “Encyclopedia of Medicinal Plants” Volume 1 and Sanina I. L. “Complete Reference Book of Medicinal Plants”.

In official medicine of Russia, two types of astragalus are recognized: the webbed astragalus (perennial plant), which grows on the Korean peninsula, in Eastern Siberia, the Far East, China and Mongolia, and its European counterpart - woolly-flowered Astragalus (also perennial), which can be found in the middle and southern part of the CIS (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Russia).

These two plants in official medicine are interchangeable and are used to treat the same diseases. True, the webbed astragalus has a more powerful effect and, unlike the woolly-flowering astragalus, it, in addition to the grassy part (stem with leaves and flowers), also uses root and seeds for medicinal purposes.

Today we will talk about these two types of astragalus, and for convenience, I will combine them under the name of Astragalus.

Other names

Astragalus woolly-floral and webbed are known in medicine and among herbalists and under other names. Pay attention to this when you buy a plant in pharmacies or markets.

Astragalus sherstistotsvetkovy - Astragalus densely flowered, Astragalus fluffytoclet or Astragalus dasyanthus Pall.

Astragalus webbed - Astragalus membranaceus or Astragalus membranaceus.

The ancient Scythians called Astragalus woolly-flowered "grass of immortality" and "royal grass."

How to harvest and store Astragalus

Astragalus can be harvested by collecting it in natural areas of growth, but some sources indicate that the Astragalus woolly-flowered is listed in the Red Book. Therefore, you can consider other options - to grow a plant in the garden or even at home, as a houseplant. It is worth making this effort, because buying astragalus in pharmacies is quite difficult, and its beneficial properties in the treatment of various, including intractable diseases, are very significant.

The grass and leaves of Astragalus are harvested during the flowering period (May-June) before the formation of fruits, cutting them with a knife or sickle at a height of 7-10 cm from the soil. You can not tear the plant, so as not to damage the root system. You should also leave on each bush a few twigs to form seeds.

Astragalus seeds are beans that are harvested in July-September, when 70-80% of the seeds are browned, and the beans themselves will be in the stage of wax ripeness.

The roots are dug in the fall (September-October), cleaned from the ground, cut into small pieces.

Raw materials are dried in the usual way, spread out in a thin layer in a dry, shaded, well-ventilated place. Do not forget to often turn over.

Dried raw materials are stored in linen bags of natural fabric in a well-ventilated area. Shelf life - 1 year.

Description of rhubarb

There are more than 1500 varieties of astragalus, which differ in the structure of the flower and chemical composition. Under the word "astragalus" our compatriots imply astragalus, membranous or woolly-flowered. These two types of plants are most often used in alternative medicine.

In the people such plants are often called the grass of life or cat peas. Astragalus refers to the herbaceous plants of shrub or semi-shrub forms of life. The woolly-flowered species of this plant is often found on the continental part of Central and Eastern Europe.

The membranous species grows predominantly in eastern Russia, in Mongolia and China. By the way, in China this type of cat peas has gained high popularity and is rather widely used by healers in alternative medicine. Astragalus is a perennial plant with a complex leaf structure and sunny yellow flowers (woolly-flowered and webbed species). The length of the leaves can reach 20 cm, width - 6 cm. The plant has a whitish hair with soft and fine hairs. Fruits are presented in the form of beans up to 1 cm long. Familiarize with the beneficial properties of such herbaceous plants as medicinal tributary, awnless bonfire, woodlouse, immortelle, Crimean brassite, goldenrod, real bedwort, sedge, white melon, colza, eastern sverbig, labaznik and dried eggs .

The root system of the plant has a strong branching, and the stems reach a height of 40 cm. In the root system of the grass of life, bacteria often settle that process nitrogen into protein, so the plant can grow on nitrogen-poor soils without particular problems.

In addition to the woolly-floral and membranous species of this plant, the following varieties of astragalus also remain popular:

  • Marshland - grows on forest edges, on steppe meadows, near the coast of rivers, on marshes. Widely distributed on the Asian continent, namely in its north-eastern part. The corolla of the plant is pale yellow, the height of the stem reaches 100 cm, the leaves form pairs (10-13 each per stem). Did you know?Scythians called astragalus grass of immortality and used the broth of her shoots with mare's milk. Such a decoction helped them to overcome the first signs of old age.
  • Daursky - A variety of cat peas with purple-purple flowers and sickle-shaped bean. Distributed in Eastern Siberia, Primorye and the Far East. It grows predominantly on sandy soil near rivers and flood meadows.
  • Shrub - dwarf shrub up to 60 cm with purple-lilac flowers and thin lanceolate leaves. Often found in the Altai Territory and in Siberia. It grows on rocky slopes and in mountain pine forests.

Important!Self-treatment with traditional medicine can harm your health. Before starting the treatment course, you should consult with your doctor.

  • Povetsvetkovy - A plant with a branched stem, whose height reaches 30 cm. Leaves are blunt, elliptical. The flowers are drooping, petiolate, with a dark yellow corolla. The flowering period falls in July - August. Found on the humus-rich limestone soils of China, Mongolia, Primorye, Amur and Siberia.
  • Rising - perennial herb with a rising stem, on which there are 10-12 pairs of leaves. The flowers are purple or blue, the fruits are in the form of webbed beans. It grows in deciduous forests, on dry meadows and along the banks of mountain rivers. Habitat covers most of Central Asia.
  • Sweet list - perennial plant with ascending stem up to 90 cm in height. It has unpaired leaves, white-fluffy peduncles and a greenish-yellow corolla. It grows in Europe and Asia Minor in deciduous forests and on the coast of rivers.

For medicinal purposes, traditional medicine uses all parts of the plant: flowers: leaves, shoots and root system. The period of collection of shoots, leaves and flowers falls on the astragal flowering phase (May - June). The flowers are collected by carefully cutting off, the leaves and stems must be carefully cut.

The roots of the plant should be excavated in September - October, and the fruits are best collected still immature (August). It is necessary to collect raw materials in places remote from roads and chemical enterprises, as the grass near the above locations will not be environmentally friendly.

Collected non-ligneous shoots, leaves and flowers should be dried in a well-ventilated area. It is best not to dry raw materials in direct sunlight, as you can lose some of the beneficial properties of astragalus. If you are the owner of a private house, the raw material can be dried in the attic: hang the shoots in an upright position, and spread the leaves and flowers on the netting material (for good blowing) and leave for a few weeks. The roots are dried in the same way as the leaves with flowers, only a little more time for drying is needed.

Did you know?Goths and Greeks used a decoction of the herb of life to protect against senile impotence.

It is also possible to dry the raw materials in a special dryer at temperatures of + 50 ... + 55 ° C, but, according to some experts, this technique is not ideal and can “pick up” some useful properties of astragalus.

After the raw material has dried properly and the moisture content of the dry material does not exceed 14%, it can be cut into small pieces and hidden in paper bags for preservation. Dry grass should be stored in a dry, warm and dark place at temperatures not lower than +20 ° C. Under ideal storage conditions, the dry material will be suitable for consumption for 1 year.

The biochemical composition of the roots of astragalus is slightly different from the same composition of leaves and shoots. The roots of this plant contain the following useful chemical compounds:

  • saponins and triterpene glycosides,
  • flavonoids, among them: isoramnetin, narcissin, kaempferol and others,
  • oxycoumarins and coumarins,
  • tannins and essential oils,
  • arabin and basorin.

Shoots and leaves are rich in such biologically active compounds:

  • alkaloids and sterols,
  • fatty and essential oils,
  • flavonoids, including: quatakein, ononin, formokeketin and others,
  • astragalosides,
  • triterpene saponins and phytosteroids.

In addition, all parts of the plant (flowers, leaves, shoots) contain such vitamins and macro-, microelements:

  • tocopherol, retinol, ascorbic acid, beta-carotene,
  • aluminum, selenium, molybdenum, zinc, sodium, magnesium,
  • iron, silicon, phosphorus, manganese, tungsten.

Keeping yourself in good shape, staying young for as long as possible is a natural desire for them. You can study this question in more detail by reading the book itself - “Astragalus - the herb of life of the Kremlin leaders”.
