Herbicide Esteron refers to agrochemical preparations with systemic post-emergence effects. Its main purpose is to protect crops of cereal crops and maize from different types of weeds.
Estheron's active ingredient is 2,4-D acid in the form of a 2-ethylhexyl ester. Its content in the composition of the herbicide is 564 g per 1 liter.
Features of the use of esterone
Avoid use of the drug immediately after frost, or in anticipation of frost on the night after treatment. Spraying is carried out at the time of active growth of weeds in the phase of 2-10 cm (rosette) in perennial dicotyledonous weeds.
Do not use the drug on crops that are under stress (for example, during drought, in the presence of excess moisture in the soil, if damaged by frosts, pests, diseases, etc.).
Spectrum of action
Esteron can be called a herbicide against dicotyledons, since its action is directed to annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds that appear after the emergence of cereal crops.
The main advantages of the post-emergence herbicide Esteron include:
- Ideal for tank mixes, when various preparations are mixed in one container to protect against weeds, insects or fungi.
- Acts very quickly, causing a visible result on the green part of the weed.
- After application, you can plant any crops, does not limit you in the rotation.
- Weeds do not get used to the action of the chemical, therefore systematic spraying of the acreage is possible.
Mechanism of action
The drug acts on the hormones of the plant, oversaturated with its synthetic auxin, which, unlike the natural, has a longer decay period and causes irreparable changes at the cellular level. The drug violates nitrogen metabolism and enzyme synthesis, as a result of which cells begin to grow and develop unevenly, which leads to the complete death of the plant.
The herbicide accumulates at the point of growth and in the places of formation of new organs and cells, therefore, further development of the weed is impossible.
On the basis of the above, it can be concluded that our herbicide does not kill vegetation, oversatriating it with poisons, but works more “subtly” using the enzymatic system of weeds against them. It turns out that the soil and cultivated plants are not poisoned, so the products are environmentally friendly.
The method, processing time and dose rate
To begin with, what crops can be treated with a herbicide.
Wheat, rye, barley, and corn can be processed. The drug is equally suitable for spring and winter crops. Wheat, rye and barley. Processing of crops is performed in the tillering stage, when the plants have not yet reached the tube. Per hectare consumed 600-800 ml of emulsion. The number of treatments - 1. It is worth remembering that if you do not feel the effect, it does not mean that the drug did not work.
We treat crops not with poisons, but with substances acting on a hormonal background, so you should not expect a lightning-fast effect. For this reason, in no case do not conduct additional treatments.
Corn. Spraying is carried out when 3-5 leaves form on the plants. Apply 700-800 ml of emulsion per 1 ha. One-time spraying.
The working fluid is not left overnight, and after spraying is completed, the tank and sprayer are thoroughly washed with water.
The drug has a different efficacy, depending on temperature and weather conditions, therefore, in order to achieve the best result, carry out the treatment at the most favorable moment. The temperature should be from 8 to 25 ° С, while the nights should be warm, without frost.
You should also pay attention to the weeds, which should be in the phase of active growth (the presence of from 2 to 10 leaves or rosettes in perennial weeds).
Period of protective action
Only those weeds that have already sprouted during the period of treatment are sensitive to Esteron. That is, if a week after treatment new weeds come through, they will not be exposed to the drug, since the herbicide quickly decomposes in the soil.
It is for this reason that crops need to be processed at the moment when all the weeds are growing, otherwise you risk destroying only part of the weeds.
Term and storage conditions
The drug is stored in a separate room, in which animals and children do not have access. Also, do not store in basements or sheds in which there are rodents, as damaged packaging reduces the shelf life of the drug. Storage temperature - from -20 to + 40 ° C, at the same time, it is strictly prohibited to store in the refrigerator with food. At observance of all norms, the herbicide retains its properties for 36 months.
Also, do not forget that the drug is phytotoxic for dicotyledonous cultivated plants, so do not plant them near cultivated areas with cereals.
Do not eat during processing and do not smoke, otherwise you will either get poisoned or a source of fire will cause the liquid to ignite.

- Excellent systemic herbicide: within an hour penetrates and spreads throughout the plant, blocking growth processes. Effectively affects both many annual and perennial weeds, including root shoots.
- It surpasses all the world-known analogues of 2,4-D both in speed and in force of weed suppression.
- The maximum effect compared with amine salts provides at lower (1.7–2.0 times) consumption rates of 2,4-D acid per 1 ha.
- The effect of ether on weeds (visual effect) is manifested in 12–18 hours, which is 2–4 times faster than with the use of amine salts and 10 times - with sulfonylureas.
- The onset of manifestation of herbicidal activity occurs at a temperature of + 5 ° C, with other drugs of this group - at + 8–12 ° C.
- Due to the high chemical purity of ether, Esteron is practically devoid of volatility, which eliminates its loss in the process of application.
- Compatible with other herbicides against dicotyledons, as well as with graminicides, insecticides, fungicides, growth regulators and fertilizers.
- Dozhdestoyek: it is not washed off by a rain in an hour after processing. Its effectiveness in drought conditions is not reduced.
- When stored at low temperatures (up to -20 ° C) does not freeze and does not crystallize, maintaining the original quality of the product.

Compatibility with other pesticides: Compatible with sulfonylurea derivatives, clopyralid, dicamba. Before preparing the tank mixture of drugs, it is recommended to check their physical miscibility in a small container
Period of protective action: The protective effect of the herbicide is maintained for 30 or more days after treatment.
Impact speed: The first symptoms of the action of the drug on sensitive annual weeds appear as early as 2-3 hours after application, and on perennials - after 1-2 days. Complete destruction of weeds occurs in 3–7 days or more.
Application technology: A one-time ground spraying is carried out. Esterone, Kaprovetavlyaet maximum effect in the processing of actively growing weeds, but differs from herbicides based on the 2,4-D amine salt in that it is highly effective even in adverse conditions (during drought or in cool weather).
The action of the herbicide ESTERON, CE is already apparent at + 5–7 ° C. ESTERON, CE is characterized by low volatility due to the absolute chemical purity of the ether (99.8%), which eliminates its loss during use. It also quickly decomposes in the soil and does not impose restrictions on crop rotation. On cereal crops, tank mixtures of the esterone, CE, and sulfonylurea herbicides are possible. At the same time the range of action expands and overgrown weeds are more effectively controlled. The consumption rate of the herbicide esteron, EC in a mixture is reduced to 0.4–0.6 l / ha, depending on the intensity of clogging.
On corn ESTHERON, CE is applied independently, after making TROFI 90, CE or in a tank mix with herbicides based on rimsulfuron and nikosulfuron when maize crops are clogged with crab, thistle, bindweed, ambrosia, Mary, nightshade and some other types of weeds. The rate of consumption of the herbicide esteron, EC in a mixture is reduced to 0.3–0.6 l / ha.
After harvesting grain or in pairs, if dicotyledonous weeds predominate in the field, then instead of the full dosage of the preparation based on glyphosate it is possible to use the tank mixture ESTERON, CE / URAGAN FORTE, BP (with a consumption rate of 0.6 + 2.0 l / ha and above) . To combat euphorbia with vines and horsetails, the rate of application is increased to 1.0 + 3.0 l / ha and higher, depending on the intensity of clogging.
Preparation of working solution: the working solution is prepared immediately before spraying. To obtain a stable and highly dispersed solution, thoroughly mix the preparation in its original packaging before preparation. 1/3 tank sprayer filled with water. Add the required amount of the drug, based on one sprayer filling, turn on the agitator. Add water to full volume and mix the mixture. The empty container is rinsed several times with water and poured into the spray tank. The preparation of the working solution and the filling of the sprayer are carried out at special sites, which are further subjected to neutralization. The recommended consumption rate of the working solution is 200–300 l / ha. In order to prevent clogging of sprayers, it is recommended to use clean water. To achieve maximum efficiency, the drug must be applied with the help of well-adjusted equipment and evenly applied to the sheet surface. It is recommended to use slit nozzles, which provide an average size of droplets during spraying. After using the product, rinse the sprayer and related equipment well with water. Temperature for drug use: from +8 to + 25 ° С. Avoid use of the drug while waiting for frost on the night after treatment or immediately after it. Spraying is carried out at the time of active growth of weeds in the phase of 2–10 leaves in annuals and 10–15 cm (rosette) in perennial dicotyledonous weeds.
Phytotoxicity: Phytotoxic for broadleaf (dicotyledonous) cultivated plants. Herbicide resistant cereal plants, including grain crops. The greatest degree of stability in the tillering phase.
The possibility of resistance: When using herbicides based on 2,4-D, the resistance of dicotyledonous weeds is not observed. However, with many years of annual use, accumulation of weed species in the agrophytocenosis can occur, showing resistance to 2,4-D.
Drug storage: Store in accordance with the requirements of the existing legislation in a dry, well-ventilated, specially designed room in the intact packaging of the manufacturer. Storage temperature from -20 to + 40 ° C. The product is fire and explosion proof.
Shelf life: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
