On each household plot there should be several benches and benches with backs, so that in good weather you can relax outside, sit under the gentle sun and just relax from working in the garden. You can buy a wooden or metal shop, or you can just make it yourself. In this article we will look at what types of shops are and how you can make one of them on your own, having on hand all the necessary tools and materials.

How are the species?

There are a large number of shops with backrests and each owner of a country house or summer house chooses for himself the option that best suits the exterior of his backyard.

Shops are very different depending on their scope.

  • Regular benches with backrest are suitable for any backyard and perfectly fit into the exterior of the yard. They are comfortable and very practical, as they have a simple construction and are unpretentious in their appearance. Suitable for installation near the house, in the gazebo, near the pond, etc. They can be made of wood, metal, stone, and also be combined (from wood and metal, wood and stone, wood and brick, plastic and other building materials).
  • Corner benches will look great where you can not put the usual large bench with a back. They can be placed in the corners of the gazebo, in the gardens, as well as in any convenient place on the plot. Such shops can be metal, wooden, stone and combined.
  • Ordinary benches without backrest can be installed anywhere, as they are versatile and comfortable enough for any country house. They can be easily made by hand, as they are made according to the most common standard drawing of the classical type.
  • Oval, round or semicircular benches with back and without back will look great in the center of the same circular arbor, in the center of the garden or in another place where they will create an aesthetic exterior to the entire backyard area, as well as perform their immediate functions. Also in the center of a round bench a tree, a green bush can grow, a beautiful flower bed can bloom or even a children's sandbox can be located. It all depends on the imagination of the master and the functional needs of the owners of a country house or cottage. They can be made of wood, metal, stone, as well as in the combined form of various compatible with each other natural materials.

Preparatory stage: drawings, dimensions, angle

Before you start making a shop for your backyard from any type of material, you need to take all the measurements and make an accurate drawing of the future design. This is necessary in order for it to turn out even without distortions and rolls. Also, the design scheme will help calculate the required amount of material for the manufacture of shops of any type.

What material to choose: useful tips

Pine, oak, birch boards or logs, as well as pear, hornbeam and solid larch are commonly used for the manufacture of wooden structures for the garden plot. Virtually any tree is easy to process, has excellent decorative qualities, and also aesthetically fits into the country landscape. The main advantage of the tree is its beautiful aesthetic appearance. But meanwhile, it negatively tolerates exposure to sunlight, high humidity and low temperature (severe frosts). Therefore, it is best to install wooden benches in closed gazebos, on terraces covered with awnings, or to make them portable (collapsible) so that you can clean them in a closed room (pantry, basement, storage room) for the winter.

  • In the manufacture of stationary benches usually use composite materials such as wood and iron, wood and building bricks or concrete, wood and stone. The seat and back are usually made of wooden planks or cant, and the supporting parts are made of other materials that can withstand various weather conditions and temperature variations well.
  • Metal shops are not very popular among owners of country houses and cottages, who themselves make garden furniture for their homes. They prefer to use a tree that is easier to use and process. The fact is that it is not very easy to work with metal and it is often necessary to have a welding machine for this, and also to know how to work with it correctly.

Steel props will be the most competent choice for the manufacture of a bench with a wooden seat and back to place it on the territory of the cottage or country house. Such a bench will serve you at least 15 years, and it will not need to be cleaned during snow or rain.

Calculation of the material and the necessary tools

For the device of a wooden shop we will need:

  • Wooden boards -3 pieces (length - 5 meters, thickness - 40 millimeters),
  • Screws - screws,
  • High-quality antiseptic from fungi and parasites,
  • Impregnated fire retardant salt,
  • Water repellent varnish or custom wood paint,
  • Drill,
  • Bulgarian,
  • Sander,
  • Hand saw, gasoline or electric,
  • Screwdriver.

Step by step assembly instructions

Before you start making a wooden portable shop, you need to cut boards into certain elements:

  • For the seat and back, we will need six strips of 1500x140 mm,
  • Two high legs for the back of 720x140 mm,
  • Two front support structures (pairs) of 360x140 mm,
  • Four bars - mounts for seats and legs 520x70 mm in size,
  • One board for the rigidity of the frame size 120x140 mm.

Finishing shop

After completion of all carpentry work, the shop must be completely treated with a fire retardant and then coated with a waterproof varnish in several layers or with ordinary oil paint.

If you want to make the shop more aesthetic and beautifully designed, you can simply cut the boards along and then fill them diagonally, crosswise or with a Christmas tree.

Step-by-Step Actions

On a cobblestone and concrete ground, the bench must be placed on a cement foundation. On a soft ground, it will be necessary to make a column foundation.

  1. We carry out a marking of the territory for the device of brick racks and we remove the top layer of soil (turf). We dig holes with a diameter of 20x20 cm and a depth of about 50 - 60 cm for the foundation of the device. At the very bottom of the well we fall asleep sand with a thickness of 10 cm and on top of crushed stone with a thickness of 20 cm. We tamp it all up well, pour water on it a little and leave it for a day.
  2. From above we put several pieces of roofing material and place a bunch of five reinforcing bars in the hole. All this is poured concrete and let harden for about three or four days. For concrete mixing, we take cement, sand and small gravel (1: 3: 5).
  3. Put a small layer of liquid concrete (1–2 centimeters) on the prepared foundation. This will be the foundation for the future brick decorative base. Next, we begin to lay a brick with bandaging. Masonry is made necessary for the construction of the width, that is, such as will be the shop itself or a little already. The height of the brickwork should be about 50 cm. Inside the laying on the top row, we leave room for the formation of the shelf for the subsequent installation of the bench seat.
  4. Seat boards we fasten together with the help of boards and screws. Then we install the finished shop on the prepared supports of brick. We saturate the wood with fire retardant, let it dry and coat it with a special water-repellent lacquer or colored paint.

Video: how to make a shop for a country house by yourself

If you make a shop of wood and metal with your own hands, you can enjoy the fruits of your labor for many years and rest on it in the shade of fruit trees. With proper and timely care for such a wooden bench with metal or brick supports will serve for many years. But in order not to suffer from heavy rains or snow in winter or autumn, it is best to clean it indoors if possible. Regular maintenance can significantly extend the life of your shop on the plot.

Photo of original benches (ideas for garden and garden)

How ordinary bench benches look like everyone knows - and more than once. But the usual - the most simple - something you do not want. Especially if there is already begun the process of decorating the site or while you are just planning. Why not start off the bench? And there and other decorations will catch up. Just start.

In the garden or near the house you want to have more greenery: beautiful and different flowers. Flower beds and flower beds are good, but why not combine them with a bench.

Two beds of their boards and a bench between them

What could be easier? Two wooden boxes in which flowers are planted and between them a pair of brushed and ground boards. This shop can be placed near the wall, and on the wall to fill a pair of long boards - there will be a back.

Not everyone likes flowerbeds of wood: wood requires care, and without it quickly loses its appearance. It is especially difficult to care for a tree that is in contact with the soil. Instead of wooden boxes, there may be, for example, stone or concrete pedestals.

Such a bench in the country with their own hands to make quite simple. You can find ready-made concrete beds or do something similar. The board can be bought processed, but you can do it yourself. Instead of a board there can be half a log - depending on the style of the plot. It is easier to fasten the seat with a metal corner. It is attached to the concrete with dowels, to the tree with screws from the bottom or through bolts.

If someone has large plants in strong pot, you can implement the following idea. In this embodiment, the bench covers the plants. So that there are no surprises, flowerpots should be very durable ....

Vases as legs

There is a similar version of the bench of boards and without plants: maybe you need on the veranda or in the gazebo to put. The supports are made up of boards of the same size, and the seat is made of timber.

Board bench - a non-standard option

And more variations on the same theme: hollow building blocks were used as a support. The machined bars are inserted into the holes. This is the bench seat. Only round the edges of the timber, or it will be uncomfortable to sit.

Bench of hollow blocks and timber

For this garden bench it is advisable to find blocks of large size with thick walls. If not - you need to securely fasten the blocks with one another. The whole task is to fix the blocks first (for example, studs), and then to them - bars (bolts or pins).

Log benches

If your plot is made in the style of rustic or ethno, the standard approach will not work for you. It is best to use logs in this case — with or without bark — this is your choice.

Seat for a bench of logs - sawn along the trunk of a large or medium diameter. The back is either a smaller trunk, or just a cut closer to the edge. The legs can also be made of rather narrow pieces of a log (see the photo below).

The bench from the log - quickly and easily

The legs and seats are interconnected by metal pins: a hole of slightly smaller diameter is drilled under the pin in both parts. The pin is hammered into one of them, the second part slides in and is also hammered, but it is already beating the wood, not the pin. In order to leave no traces, they put a piece of unnecessary board and knock it with a hammer (or a sledge hammer). Such a connection should be completely reliable, but to be sure, you can install two or three pins, or you can cut a few logs by making a flat platform on the same size on both parts to be joined. Increasing the area of support, increase the tightness of the seat mounting: all the same, the log weighs a lot.

Option bench without back

Another interesting option in the style of "ethno" is presented in the photo above. It is implemented in stone, but you can also make this bench from a log. The seat is a very thick board, the legs are most of the large diameter deck. In the deck cut down the groove for laying the seat. If you have a tool (you can make a cutout with an ax, grinder or chainsaw), it is easy to make.

Often in the country need a desktop. Not only a bench can be made from a log, but also a table. A variant of such an ensemble is in the photo. Only the table top is made of planks, all other parts are logs of different diameters or halves.

Table with benches of logs

A large degree of processing is inherent in the next bench in the same style. The back, legs, armrests are made of thick and not very twigs, the seat is made of sanded and treated (peeled and ground) unedged boards.

Option benches made of wood for the garden or to the country

Almost another bench is also made. Only boards and branches are located in a different direction and a different look is obtained. Bench with their own hands of this type does not require great skill. In this case, the more carelessly the work turns out, the more decorative the result.

Wicker back - rarely seen

Around the tree you can make a platform for rest and a bench. The designs are simple, making the flooring is so generally simple.

Resting place under a tree

You can complement the recreation group with a swing and a gazebo. And above the bench you can put the pergola - this is the “progenitress” of the usual arch - one of the types of light arbors. And so that the relaxation was completely complete, you can make a pond, a fountain or a waterfall.

From metal and wood

Few people will put fully metal benches in their country house. They, of course, can be very beautiful, but in the summer they warm up to incredible temperatures, and they will become colder in a little bit — do not sit on them, as they are too cold. These drawbacks are free from metal and wood benches. The legs and the supporting structure are made of metal, and the seat and back (if any) are made of wood. And there are also interesting shops in modern design.

Bench from a profile pipe

Rectangles are welded from the profile, jumpers welded to the side walls, on which the seat boards rest. Simple, stylish, reliable, functional.

In a more improved form - with armrests, back, soft cushions on the seat such a design may look like the photo. The wide seat turns a bench into a sofa, and comfort is added by pillows - furniture-covered furniture foam. The tables are made in the same style - the frame is made of corrugated pipe and the tabletop is made of boards.

One important point: if you make a seat or tabletop from several adjacent elements, they do not need to be butt jointed. There should be a gap of 3-4 mm between adjacent planks / bars. Wood swells, then dries. In order for these processes to remain relatively flat, a gap is necessary.

Stylish benches made of metal and wood

If smoother lines are needed - for families with children - you can bend the pipes and make garden benches and a table with rounded edges. This garden furniture is completely safe. Ordinary round or professional pipe bend, leaving the sides in the shape of the letter "P" with a wide back. The length of this back is the length of the bench. For the table, the dimensions make a little more: the legs and and the back are longer.

Table and bench from pipe and planks

Make two identical blanks on the table and bench. Next, cut the boards of the same length. For a seat about 40 cm, for a table top not less than 55 cm. Fasten to the pipes with furniture bolts with a flat cap. So that the caps do not stick out, a hole of slightly larger diameter is drilled under them.

Benches from boards

The largest group is benches and benches. There are designs that look more like sofas, especially if you put soft pillows on them - and you can lie down.

This garden bench is more like a sofa: with sufficient size and you can lie down

Garden furniture in modern style is simple to assemble: rectangles with partitions of thinner boards, interconnected.

Even the usual construction of a country shop can become exclusive if you approach it with fantasy: instead of legs and armrests wooden wheels are used. The result was a designer thing.

A bench of boards with a back and wheels instead of sides - it looks interesting

And the simplest possible is a board on the legs in the form of the letter “X”. These shops built a century ago, you can see them today.

Traditional design of the bench

From the boards you can make a bench in a modern style: in the form of the letter "P". With this design, the main task is to ensure rigid fixation of the legs and the seat: arching forces are not compensated by anything. In this case, it is important to take a thick board or timber so that it does not bend. You can put the board on the edge: so the rigidity will be more. To increase reliability, you can install the bottom corners.

Simple design, and looks modern.

In the photo version with gash under 45 °. Having a block or circular saw, precise cutting is easy to achieve. By accurately joining the blanks and fastening them, we obtain an angle of 90 °. If the seat does not sag, it will serve for a long time ...

An interesting and reliable version of the bench is presented in the photo below. The legs are assembled from boards of different lengths: each second is shorter by the width of the board for the seat. Interesting idea. About what are the swings (for adults and children) and how to build them, read here. And in this article you can read about the construction of the playground, about the sandbox written separately - here.

Bench without back

The design is simple, but it looks interesting due to the specific material. For legs used a bar with rounded edges. If you have small-sized logs, you can trim them on the sides. It turns out almost the same effect. Such material is not such a rarity, legs are unusually assembled from it: the bars are laid one on top of the other flat. This gives a highlight and adds appeal.

A simple shop looks interesting due to the material

This bench without a back has a length of about 120 cm, a width of about 45 cm, and a height of 38 cm. You can round the edges of a timber using a milling cutter, or you can find a similar profiled one. It costs more, but it will be easier to work with it: it is already well processed and connected simply.

Depending on the found cross-section of the beam, calculate the length that you need. Determine how many bars you have to stack one over another to get the height needed. In this case, 5 bars were spent on one leg. Total 45 cm * 5 pcs - 2.25 m. It took 4.5 m of timber on two legs. A 40 mm thick and 90 mm wide board was used on the seat. For the seat, you need 5 planks 1.5 meters long. It turned out 1.2 m * 5 pcs = 6 m.

First, we cut and process the boards for the seat. Their faces need to be rounded. If there is no grinding machine or a milling cutter, you will have to work with sandpaper, or you can find such a board or arrange it at a sawmill to get it processed and then polished: there will be much less work. So, cut the same length of the board, grind and varnish (with or without tinting - your choice).

Leg blocks fold one near one, aligning their edges. Using a square and a pencil, draw the lines where the fastener will be placed. The distance between the lines is 7-10 cm.

Lines on which pins will be installed

You can take metal pins, and you can make pins - carved from wood. They are drilled for holes slightly smaller than the diameter, the depth of the hole is half the length of the pin. Then they are hammered into one piece, the second piece sits on top of the same hole. The connection is reliable, but for sure you can add glue, although then the design will be one-piece.

With a pin joint, the main task is to make the holes strictly one above the other, so that the parts fitted on the pin give a smooth edge. Part of the work was done - we drew lines where we will drill; now it is necessary to measure the same distance from the edge. To do this, make a template. We take a piece of plank width of about 1.5 cm. At such a distance from the edge of the bars we will drill holes. Attaching it exactly along the edge we mark the places of intersection with perpendicular lines.

We make holes in bars staggered

We will install the pins in staggered order, so we will drill holes through one intersection. Also we make holes in one bar from different sides in a checkerboard pattern. Similarly, on the pins, the legs are connected to the seat: two pins on each bar.

Technologically, this type of connection is correct, but it is complex and requires a certain skill. You can do it easier. Fold all the bars one upon another, fasten with clamps, drill through in two or three sets - in the center and along the edges, connect with a long pin with washers under the cap and nut. To the legs of the seat, assembled in such a way, you can nail the top or try to make a pin joint.

Bench made with his own hands. Finishing work left

If you nailed the seat with nails, take a bit of wood mastic of a suitable color, add some very fine sawdust and stir. With this composition anoint the joints. When dry, line the skin. Grind all the details to a smooth state and varnish or paint the wood for outdoor work (preferably not covering, but which leave visible the texture of the wood).

How and what you can paint wood in this article. In it there is a speech about lining, but painting techniques remain the same, and the compositions must be taken for external use.

Bench do-it-yourself from broken chairs

In any household you can find two old chairs. They should be the same and still strong enough. We disassemble the chairs, leaving the part with the back and legs. We connect two backs with the help of bars of a suitable section.

Bench from old chairs

For greater rigidity at the bottom, at a distance of about 20 cm from the floor, where earlier the chairs also had lintels, we make another frame with transverse crossbars. It can be used as a footrest or to store any things.

We paint the made design

After grinding, paint the resulting structure. At this time, the paint should be ordinary: different types of wood can be painted only with covering paints. To put with a brush or from a barrel.

Things are easy: cut to size a seat made of thick plywood (thickness 8-10 mm) and cover it with foam rubber and a cloth.

Ready bench from strulyev

Garden chair / bench out of pallet

In the household all is useful. Even out of cargo pallets you can make garden furniture. And there is no need to disassemble them: we use one for the seat, from the second we will make the backrest. You will need only well-crafted planks for armrests and bars for legs.

This is what should work.

In one of the pallets we strengthen the attachment points by inserting pieces of bars. Inserting, fasten screws from one and the other side.

We strengthen the corners of the pallets

From a bar with a section of at least 100 * 100 mm we cut four identical lengths of 80 cm. We fasten them in the places that we just strengthened. Leave 20-25 cm on the legs. We fasten with four long self-bridges - 150 mm and no shorter.

We fasten the legs-supports for the armrests

It is important to observe verticality and leave the same distance on the legs. Then the seat will stand straight. If there are errors in height, you can try to file, but then you will have to cut from above - so that the armrests are even. So try to fasten exactly. With deviations from the vertical, you can fight only by screwing the leg again.

We attach a second pallet to the rear pillars and planks for armrests on the sides.

It remains to cut a piece of furniture foam rubber and wrap it with a cloth. You can make pillows for the back. If you are not going to process everything thoroughly, but to make a chair in the loft style, go around with sandpaper or a grinder, treating all surfaces to smoothness. It can be painted to give the wood a dark color.

  • FROM AN OLD BED.

But the ways to create a beautiful bench to give using the back of the old bed.

One back is sawn in half. The halves will be used as side elements of the dacha benches.

Even if the back of your bed is not made of a solid shield, but decorated with carved balusters - you can still make a bench according to this scheme.

The seat can be covered with a solid wooden shield. Or upholstered with slats as in the photo below.

The second headboard can be used under the FALSE part of the bench - from the front edge. As this is done in the photo below. The bottom frame of the bench can simply be tiled with a cut planed board and painted. And you can cut a solid shield and put it on top of the frame.

You can use to create a bench, only one back.

You can make a FRESH FRAME under the dacha bench from an edged board.

Or the skeleton for the seat - the bench frame of the bench - can be taken from the same material as the frame of the bed. As this is done in the photo below.

And pay attention. Here is a part of the blood bed frame UPPER - to raise the level of the seat.

You can make a beautiful dacha bench even using modules from any other furniture. For example from the old buffet. Suppose you have a buffet part of which is not subject to restoration (drunken guests fell and broke through the line of drawers).

Then fate itself tells you to make an exclusive bench out of it. Unusually beat the rest of the buffet. And create a cozy corner for family privacy.

And you do not want to put such a designer bench in the rain. You will find her a place of honor in your holiday home. And you will sew for her blue pads with embroidery of snow-white patterns.

    OWN HANDS.

In order to immediately explain the term "shield" - I will show just such a simple design - a mini-shop of kitchen chopping boards. This is the classic panel board design. That is, the product is assembled from the whole boards.

In the photo below the shields are connected in a mortise manner. Board-sidushka pulls into the grooves on the legs-racks.

Here below the bench is made EXACTLY AS WELL - by the shield method. Only the shield material is coarser and less vigorous. And here they added a back - they cut it into the grooves cut in the supporting boards too.

    • Attaching shields to each other can be CALVED (as in the photo above) - where in some shields grooves are cut, and other shields enter the bottom. Such fasteners are used only in shields made from a whole piece of wood. Glued shields are not suitable for this - they can stratify in the places of their gluing.
    • Also for fastening are used ADDITIONAL FASTENING ELEMENTS - wooden (side bars, corner stubs, prone), metal (corners, staples and perforated plates).

Shield way made village benches. 2 side shields (these are legs) - they are interconnected by a long board (this is a pronogram). The board can be located at the bottom of the mezhdunozhya, or in the top of the mezhdunozhya - just below the board of the seat. In the photo below, we see both of these ways of locating the prone under the bench.

As you understand the shields with which you work, do not have to name the correct form. It may be fragments of an old gnawed board - in which you cut flat line supports for PENDING SEAT AND BACK.

In the photo below, a solid shield plays the role of support for both the sidushka board and the backboard board.

Here is the same principle - a solid support for the seat and back of the country bench.

And this beautiful white bench for the garden is made according to the same principle. Only already from exactly cut boards and painted.

Below we see a bench model of a bench with a back, where already 2 shields play the role of support for the seat and backrest.

And these supporting SIDE PANELS are made at a small angle of inclination. And so the bench turned out seat with a slope deep into and slightly reclined back. Very comfortable to sit in a bench.

And agree to do, saw out this bench with your own hands is very easy. Here the drawing does not have to be accurate. Just do it your way. Light corner of the collar choose by eye.

    • Side lean back - in the form of a long triangle (tilt choose yourself).
    • Foot support for seat mats - in the form of an elongated trapezoid (available with or without collar).
    • A section of a thick timber is smoothed under foot supports so that the bench has a height. But if you have a wide board, then the legs will be higher at the bench, then it is possible even without timber supports

All parts can be planted on ordinary nails.

That the bench was not so low (if you wish) you can make the walking boards higher - hammer together several pieces of timber at once - put them on top of each other with a turret and fasten them from the inside with a board (to hold everything together) or without a board just on nails.

And still such bench can be PUT ON LEGS - also in the form of elongated trapezium. Baits are stuffed from the inside of the seat support.

Benches for bench can be BROKEN (that is, not integral, but to consist of their boards, which are connected with each other by a pin-board). A simple country bench with the photo below just demonstrates this method.

And this garden bench of thick boards is also made on the same principle.

Do it yourself at the dacha.

And here's another simple model of country benches. Her simplicity is not only constructive, but also in material. From one long edging board you can make just such a garden bench quickly and easily with your own hands.

It can be supplemented with armrests, covered with a noble dark stain, or paint of bright juicy color.

On the sides of the country benches of this type, you can make stands for books, pivasik, those things with which you like to relax in the country.

Let's look at the drawing of this dacha bench. We see that all the corners of the scraps of the board have a slope of 30 or 60 degrees. Dimensions on the drawing are in inches. One inch equals 2.54 cm.

The drawing we see from the side. The length of the backrest and seat is your choice.

Cut the board into the segments we need. And we collect the bench on the bolts, screws or nails.

To such a bench in the country you can make a table for provisions. Or the usual shield shop.

    WITH CURVED SIDE SHIELD.

The shields that you cut for the side of your bench at the cottage - may have LOW CURRENT LINES. Then the bench can be a real work of art - your creative work.

The seat in such a bench rests on the planks stuffed under it from the inside of the sidewalls.

The back rests on the bottom - on the same bar as the seat, and on the top on the bar that is vertically packed along the back of the curved sides.

Boards from which you cut a curly sidewall can be processed along the edge, giving it roundness and smoothness (left photo below).

And curly sidewall can be cut not from the usual shield and from the joinery with relief - the front part of the cabinet or the old paneled door. Even the door handle can not be removed - and leave for beauty (on the right photo of the bench below).

Before proceeding to the independent production of the bench, you need to carefully approach the question of where to place it. This question should be addressed because the bench is not only an object for the comfort of rest, but also a place where a sufficiently large amount of time will be spent, and therefore the view and atmosphere should be suitable. In addition, much of its design and installation process will depend on the chosen site for the installation of the garden bench.

Examples of the location of garden benches by the design decision.

In addition to these options, you can set the bench in a place where children usually spend their leisure time, which will allow them to be close to them when they play. A resting place will be especially well organized if there is a lonely tree on the plot, which has a spreading crown, setting the bench directly under it.

In addition, you can organize a shed near the house, under which to put a garden bench. It will be a good resting place even in rainy weather. There is another option to simply determine the place of the bench on the ridges where the crop is grown - it will be convenient for rest between work in the garden.

Important: It is best to choose a place for placement in such a way that there are no irritating objects or buildings, garages, a fence and the like in sight. It is worth remembering that the view should lift the mood and promote relaxation, and not be a reminder of how much work still needs to be done at the cottage.

There are plenty of options and ideas for the realization that a garden bench with its own hands can allow to realize. To come up with a decorative composition with her participation is quite simple, for example, it looks good on elevations, decorated with boulders or shrubs, and the bench also harmonizes with the flower bed.

    Preliminary Steps

After the location for the bench has been determined, it is necessary to start planning the future product. It is worth considering a few points:

    1. The size. В случае если скамья будет типична по размерам инет желания проектировать индивидуальную модель, то можно воспользоваться данными из таблицы.
    2. Способ крепления спинки.
    3. Планировка ножек. Определить такой критерий можно исходя из мобильности изделия. If the bench assumes a stationary structure, then it should be strengthened in the ground with the help of cement, having previously dug a hole in the ground of the required size.

    Table of standard bench sizes.

When the drawing plan is drawn up, it is possible to easily determine the size of each detail of the bench, and then proceed to its manufacture.

It is also worth asking about the material from which the garden bench will be made with your own hands. Each material has its own particular nuances that can be used as advantages to achieve the desired result.

    1. Plastic If plastic is used for construction, then it is possible to achieve ease if necessary to move the product. Also, the plastic material is good because its range allows you to choose any color. If we consider the shortcomings of such a structure, it will be a low degree of reliability, a rapid rate of burnout and low cost of the species. However, those who are familiar with the process of making furniture from plastic, or have the skills to solder pipes, will not be able to construct a product. When creating a product, you can use liquid nails at the joints. It is possible, using plastic material, to build not only a bench, but also a separate chair.
    2. Tree Wood has always been considered a versatile material so that any comfortable furniture can be made from it. With regards to garden benches, the type of wood does not matter. The main thing in this process is ease of processing and dryness of the material. You should also choose parts of the tree that do not have flaws in appearance.

A rock Stone designs always have an elegant and unusual look. It is always very beautiful, and will also be ideally suited to any design solution already existing in the landscape. However, it is necessary to take into account some of the nuances when choosing a stone material. These include the inability to move it if necessary, since it is made only of a stationary type. In addition, the mandatory addition will be a soft and warm seat, because being on a bare stone surface is unhealthy and besides, you cannot call it comfortable either.

  • Metal A garden bench made of metal with your own hands will always be an elegant decoration and an ideal place to spend your free time. The use of forging, it is possible to combine in combination with another material, for example wood, glass is also well suited.
  • Mandatory requirements for the bench

In addition to the previous nuances in the process of product design, it is worth considering a certain list of requirements that it must meet. Must be taken into account:

    1. Security. We can not allow unreliable design products, because it can bring a lot of trouble at the time of using it. To ensure safe use, it is worthwhile to select only high-quality material, as well as fasteners and any accessories.
    2. Convenience. Undoubtedly, such an object in the garden as a garden bench should be comfortable so that the process of rest would not interfere. To do this, you need to very carefully and carefully approach the stage of creating a project and think over all the details in advance.
    3. Resistance to external conditions. To ensure long-term preservation of the appearance and service life, it is necessary to choose only solid material at the assembly stage of the product. Additionally, it is worth treating it (in the case of manufacturing from wood material) with special means that are able to provide protection to the product.
